    Hi everyone,

i`ve neglected posting for a while but have been keeping up here and there. Here are my latest figures.

    Annual interest £283.86
    Monthly interest £23.33
    Daily interest £0.77
    Total balance owed £18,314.08 :j

I must get the balance down as much as possible now as it seems as if DH only has another few months of work so if we have to go down to the minimum payment for a while then we should be able to manage.

I spoke to the bank earlier and their balance owed was a little bit different from my spreadsheet but it was a bit lower so i`ve adjusted things slightly. I`m not complaining though as it was lower instead of higher. I`ve just worked out the budget for next month and then emptied the bank account into the mortgage account so if its not there then we can`t spend it.

Its nice to now be in the eighteens and i`m looking forward to the seventeens next month :D

Well all overpayments are suspended until further notice :-(

DH went into work today and its gone down the tubes. So as of now he is once again jobless. We thought that we had until April next year so its a bit of a shock that its happened so suddenly. He won`t even get the wages that he is owed so now we have to find out what we can do to keep afloat. When he arrives home later no doubt there will be paperwork to fill in and i need to read up on everything.

Our saving grace is that as we have overpaid we can now go down to the minimum payment and we should just be able to scrape through on my wage for a while if we are very careful.

So thanks for keeping me motivated guys and gals and fingers crossed that i can rejoin you all in the MFW journey at a later date.

    Good luck peeps.

  • Hey, well done on things so far. So sorry abt OH job, you normally sound so positive so keep your chin up and things will work out.
  • Hello Sunnyday,

Difficult news... You've done so well, and it's at times like these that the MFW lifestyle comes into its own... I think we all know how to budget on here, and the progress you've made so far will stand you in good stead.

Chin up, and do let us know how you get on. I lost my job after eleven years, so I know what it feels like, but whilst it was a tremendous and horrible shock, good things came out of it.

    All the best,
    QB

    Morning peeps

Things are looking up - DH went for a job interview yesterday and was offered the job :j:j:j:j:j

It will start in a couple of weeks and we`re not sure whether he has to work a week in hand or a month in hand yet but the main thing is that he will be working again :D:D:D

I really wanted to pop on and say thanks to you all for all your good wishes :A

All being well normal overpayments should resume by January so i`m only two months behind on my spreadsheet so i`ll adjust it when things start to return to normality.

I can`t tell you how relieved i am and i`m even more determined to reduce the balance than before so i`ll raise a glass to you all later for keeping me focussed :D

    Hi peeps

good news - the money (or rather a good chunk of it) that the old company DH worked for has been paid by the receivers :j

We have quite a frugal Christmas planned so i shall now buy a couple of extra prezzies and a few extra nibbly bits - guess where the rest is going :rotfl::D

We shall be able to pay off the CC balance towards the end of January so thats another bit of luck. I don`t think that we shall ever see the rest of what he is owed but never say never, i`m just grateful that we have received most of it.

I`ll pay it into the mortgage account after the CC has been paid in Jan and i`ve also decided that we shall have a really frugal 2011 and go all out to pay off the mortgage.

I know that to some that may not seem like a good idea and that a good balance between overpaying and living a bit is usually the norm but having had all this job worry three times now i`ve spent too much time stressed out so for us the best thing to do is to just try and get rid of it asap.

Fingers and tootsies are now crossed - it will be so nice not to have to scrape through the festive period and catch up on the finances.

I`ve not felt this focussed for a good while and i`m quite enjoying getting back to being the old me :j

    Have a fantastic Christmas everyone!
