If it was me I would want to know and would be ringing them up!

I can imagine how excited I will be when I get close to the last few hurdles! :)

I know, we thought about ringing up and going through the "push 1 for this, push 2 for that " palarver and getting to speak to someone who can`t give us an answer or calling in the branch and still getting nowhere.

The deciding factor was really that the interest rate that we are paying is fixed at 4.99% so must have been on the original paperwork and if the other set had been processed then we would have been paying 4.84%, on the other hand the KFI does state the number of payments to be made at the fixed rate which we won`t have met but it also says "assuming the start date is****"

    AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!

Think i`d better ring them, i`ve just found another KFI :rotfl:

This one states that the assumption is that the mortgage starts on 9th June 2005 with 62 payments at 4.84% and the fix ends August 2010, which is what i`d have expected but the interest rate is wrong.

Bloomin èck i can see how its got in a mess, its got the new amount borrowed on it as well as the second house cost more than the one that we pulled out of.

I`d completely forgotten about that as well, i know that my memory is bad but this is ridiculous. Hope they`re open tomorrow :o

I really can`t see that its going to be easy to sort out, BUT i may just ask if they will send me in writing the details that they are working to, may be easier than explaining that little lot over the phone :D

is there no reference numbers on them? if you ring and just ask which one is the one you are paying, surely they can tell you from that?

Right i`ve finally spoke to someone, it was in the call centre and the girl did go away three times to speak to someone else as she couldn`t answer all my questions.

    I`m none the wiser :(

Apparently they don`t have a reference number which will tell me which KFI is the one which relates to the mortgage, they don`t keep anything like that
I really didn`t expect that at all.

The only things she could tell me is what i already know and the system says that the end of my fix is 30th June 2010.

I THINK that i shall just wait and see what comes in the post - oh and i`ve overpaid by another £50 :D

So its not the one that ends in August then? (39 days in June this year ;)) I can't believe that they dont have references to things like that to keep track of things.

well done on the OP :D

I`m good at things like that so you`ll have to keep an eye on me :D
    i`ve edited it though :p

Well i now have the letter :D it states that my fix ends at the end of this month and then i shall pay the funds into the mortgage account and walk around like a cheshire cat grinning for a while, i`m also on track for another £50 overpayment this month - that is as long as i can keep DH out of the supermarket ;), if not he will be in my bad books.

I have the bank statements to balance over the next few days and as i`ve changed so much around lately i need to spend some time making sure that i`ve got the correct deductions for each month as they are all different. The new totals for the DD`s etc will be fixed for a while now as i`ve sorted everything out and been into the branch to review everything so thats one job sorted out.

I haven`t decided which date to do the overpayment yet but i think that i may just wait until the first payment has gone out at the new interest rate so that i can check that everything is ok, this means that i should be overpaying the lump around the 14th of July :j
    I can hardly wait :D

    WOOHOO!!!!

    Its gone :D
    The payment i mean :D

I thought that it would go out of my account tomorrow but just checked and its gone today :D

I dashed home from work and called A&L and my mortgage account balance is now ........................ wait for it........... £20,074.00p :j

    I really can`t believe that :D

When i look back at all the set backs that we have had since taking on this mortgage and the loss of DH`s job at one stage i`m staggered that we`ve done so well.

I`m grinning like a big cheshire cat now and can`t see myself having my usual nap after an early shift.

The actual mortgage payment comes out tomorrow so that will bring it down even more too :D

I was so excited on the phone that i forgot to ask how much my new minimum payment will be but i shall leave that for another day.

Will be a nice surprise i think - although i`ve no intention of making a min payment, all i want to do is overpay and get rid of it :D:D

Hope that everyone has good news in their day today.

    One very happy
