Just got mine from comet £299 in Blackpool, they arent on display but they have loads coming in :-)

Got my travelmate 2410 on Sunday .. Its a nice unit for the price :money: , also got 256MB ram from ebuyer (quickfind - 82100) £16.39 + vat , just stuck it in and works fine , seems quite a bit quicker now with over 500meg ram!!
I dont think blue tooth is fitted as when you press the button it says no device in green..

Emailed Comet last night though their website as no refund has been issued and have been told today that they wont issue the refund until my laptop has been delivered which is tomorrow in case I cancelled my order and the refund takes about 2-3 days to show in your account

Can anyone confirm the model number on the acer laptop as on the site it was advertised as the 2414 but when you do a zoomed view at the pic it says travelmate 2040 so unless they are just using a stock image of a travelmate laptop

although the laptops from comet and tesco are the same model number they are slightly different.

the tesco one has a high gloss screen, the comet one has the usual dull type.
the tesco one has backup discs, the comet one does not.
the tesco one comes with microsoft works and power dvd, the currys one does not.

my friend bought the comet one and i had a hell of a job getting it to play dvds, even after updating media player and installing all the latest codecs the only way i could get it to work was by installing a copy of win dvd. my neice bought one from tesco and it all worked no probs without any updating at all


of course it all depends if you can get one at all.

The Comet one I bought did have Power DVD but I didn't try playing DVD's on it only burning the backup discs :rolleyes: Will get my mate to test it out.

Do all the comet Acer laptops come without backup discs then?

Is it normal for more than 1 shop to sell the same model number laptop but it has slightly different spec i.e. better screen and back up discs etc
