Am a bit confused am I best to buy from tesco or Comet assuming I can get hold of the laptop from either?

Obviously if you have a Tesco club card buy it from Tesco and gain the points but as they fly out the door as soon as they come in to Tesco you might be better checking out Comet :)

BTW Comet were advertising this laptop in the newspapers and the TV last night so they will be flying out of the door of Comet too :)

Comet are also selling it as a package on their site for £349 which includes a laptop bag, wireless mouse and norton software in case you cannot get hold of the laptop by itself

If you're considering the package, save yourself some money. The mouse looks similar to the ebuyer one here which is £5.99 with free shipping. Woolies were doing laptop bags for £4.99, no longer available on-line but my local store had them and get all the security software you need from the net. Lots of threads in the Techie board offering advice.

    Total saving = £40 :money:
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

I managed to pick up one of these Laptops yesterday and I have a quick question for those that also have them. Do you have Bluetooth?

There is a button on the front to enable/disable it, but it doesn't seem to do anything. And I see no signs of a BT device in the Device Manager.

The manual isn't much help (very thin and limited in scope) but under the specification list it states:
    WPAN (manufacturing option): Integrated Bluetooth

Which leads me to think the button is there, but the actual BT device may not be installed.

    Thanks.

im desperate for one of these, just phoned comet customer service and the lady said that not a single comet store in england has one of these laptops in stock! is she palming me off or is she telling the truth do you think? if she is right then there cant have been many in the first place. also i tried my local tesco who said they were the only store in miles that ever had them and when they did they only had 5!

    im gutted!

It was a big advertising campaign for only a few laptops if that's true :confused:OR was such a good campaign that they sold the lot in 3 days! :rotfl:

Seriously though, there is still the bundle for £349 if you're desperate. Keep saying this, but my store said they had loads.

    Good luck!

Re: Bluetooth. Acer seem to do this, give you the switches and lights but don't give you the bluetooth. My own 18 month old Acer was the same, bit frustrating!

I've just looked on Acer's website and it looks like Bluetooth was an optional extra. What a shame.

I'm wondering if it's something that can be retro-fitted though, what with the button being there 'n all.
