    Hi All

Slightly off topic.. Can anyone advise if this ACER laptop is good value if I can get it for £375? http://www.staples.co.uk/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=,&webid=S383733&affixedcode=WW

ALSO how would these compare to similar priced Dell Notebooks?

    Thanks in advance.

For 357 it's a steal, where are you getting it from?
  • I think if you could get that for £375 you've found yourself a good deal. As the Dell equivalent would by my estimates be at least £500 (thats putting in a low estimate, I'd probably say £570 to £600 price tag, but that would include the Dell reputation with it).

I think it's obvious it's a bargain since it's getting that laptop with over 60% reduction

If I was looking for a laptop and was offered that at £375 I'd buy it (obviously I mean new as if it's not new I'd expect that sort of mark down anyway so it's not really that special)

    Hope this helps,

If anyone like me purchased the laptop on the site for £329.99 before the in-store price reduction just email comet through their "ask a question" page on the site and tell them it is cheaper in-store and they will refund the difference back onto your card.

For £300, is this laptop worth it? I was going to get a Dell one for £350 (ex P+P) and would be prepared to pay this if it made a significant difference. However, as I am a student, and will only really using it to word process/browse the web, is the Acer one suitable? Would the battery be easy to replace this time next year when inevitably its a bit worn out? I'd be prepared to spend £30 or so updating the RAM if needs be.
    Thanks :)
