I've just signed up to British gas freetime tarriff and between 9-5 on a Saturday I have free gas/elec. That's my new laundry/ironing/cooking/baking day.

I'm also a member of bzzagent. You sign up to try products in exchange for reviews. So far I've had a makeup campaign, micellar water and yoghurts. Get to try new things for free!

As long as it a) doesn't waste your time, and b) doesn't encourage you to buy branded goods you don't need!

Mum and I will never agree about micellar water - she thinks it's brilliant but to me it's an utter waste!

I wonder if anyone else has packets of protein whey powder in the cupboard, bought by bodybuilders in the family who couldn't cope with the fact that it doesn't taste that nice?
It's usually drunk as a shake mixed with water, but I've discovered a number of uses for an unloved kilo of the stuff.

Mix with cocoa, icing sugar/powdered sweetener and some coffee whitener to make your own instant hot chocolate. You need about 2 parts whey powder to 1 part cocoa, 1 part sugar/sweetener and 1 part coffee whitener. I based these ingredients on those on the side of a jar of instant hot chocolate. Use a stick blender to mix thoroughly.

Mix whey powder with water to replace milk in pancake batters. This gives a firmer pancake than standard milk, much easier to flip in the pan. If making sweet pancakes add a little sugar to the batter to counteract the very plain taste of the whey.

Mix whey with standard porridge oats in a blender to form your own fine grained instant porridge. This just needs to be mixed with water before popping in the micro. I find it slightly grainer than the instant stuff but the flavour is fine. Like the pancakes a good alternative breakfast if you are low on milk.

I was sent some micellar water to trial for Amazon, and I liked it, but I am sure it's toner, effectively, relaunched for the current era.

I get so much from Amazon that I let Buzz Agent go a bit, but it gave me a few nice items over the years.
Doing Buzz is far harder work for far less reward than reviewing for Amazon is, though.

Thanks for this. Very useful. We've got some in the cupboard that needs using up. :)

This might sound a bit odd but.....

I buy the tiny handbag size hand sanitising gels (50mls), I use them a lot! Three for a pound or something like that.

Anyway, when they are done, I wash em out well, and they are FANTASTIC for decanting shampoo, conditioner, etc. into for the "liquids" bag when flying handluggage only.

Remember to mark what they are with a felt tip pen though!

I have three of the little plastic bottle kits for taking away with me. I once washed my hair in Gaviscon as it looked just the same as the shampoo I used. It could have been worse.....!

I was very sceptical about micellar water too, but like it for removing makeup when I'm in a rush. I got a huge bottle so I can see if I actually go through it before committing to buying it.
Not all the Bzzcampaigns need much, the last one just a review. Others want loads.

Love the hand sanitizer bottle idea, definately going to use that!

Scour the meat and fish section at the co-op around 3pm too. Got some pollock for 79p a few weeks ago and stocked up the freezer :D
