I have stopped buying black plastic sacks - instead I use the sacks that come through the letterbox asking for donations. You know, the ones claiming to help the needy yet lack a registered charity number? The ones that profit from the misery of others?
Its not often I act with contempt, but this is one of those few occasions. The fact it saves me 5p per rubbish sack is not even a silver lining, it doesn't come close. I urge you all to do the same.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I've been using these type of bags for bin liners etc for a long time. However, my bin men won't take away the rubbish unless it is in a black bin bag, so I still need to buy black bin bags.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Yes, I've heard people say round here that unless rubbish is in a black bag, the bin men won't take it! Somewhat annoying to be honest as it's in a bin anyway!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I've just read this cover to cover, found in my parents home and full of handy OS tips:
Some of the tips around food felt a little old fashioned for modern tastes, which made me wonder when the book was written. The answer was found on p42..."Use two litre plastic ice-cream boxes for stacking cassette tapes" - a relic from the 1980s, I guessed. In fact first published in 1990, incredibly over quarter of a century ago!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I smiled at the mention of cassette tales. I was doing some decluttering the other day and came across a box of 4" computer floppy discs..
Remember them? I have no idea what they contain because we have long since dumped any computer equipment which would play them,
i think somebody once had the clever idea of burying some of these discs in a time capsule under a new building somewhere so that future generations, when it was demolished , might get some archeological idea of the past. But how on earth would they know what the discs contained with no suitable equipment left on which to play them? They might probably think they were 1970s beer coasters :rotfl:0 -
Vfm4neplse do share any good tips please.:)
I'm working my way through my freezers and have, so far, found and cooked (and survived) frozen meat from 2013 and 2014.
Old timey meat I saved money on. :T:eek::DOverprepare, then go with the flow.
