When my wash cloths start getting a bit frayed at the edges, I crochet around them to make them last longer. Some of mine are over twenty five years old...and I raised six kids. They were nice washcloths to begin with so had the terry thread count to last.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

I have been looking for something to keep an open window from banging shut (window opens inwards like a door), saw something on Amazon which cost around £7.....so used a piece cut from a pool noodle which is doing the trick just nicely, jammed in between the window frame and the side frame of the open window. A piece of thick polystyrene or heavy duty foam would do the same job.......no idea why I didn't think of this before, it's only taken me 6 and a half years!0

I immediately thought it was what we would call a facecloth, although you have now got me wondering if I am wrong.0 -

Oh I didn't realize this was an American term. It a small usually square absorbent cloth (terry) that is used to wash the face and body. It's also referred to as washrag.
Is this what you call a face cloth?
Today I'm going to use up the slightly aged carrots and celery in clam chowder. I'm really trying to not waste fresh veggies or fruit at all. I haven't thrown out anything but a few sprigs of leftover fresh cilantro in months and months. Pats self on back for doing good waste management deeds.Overprepare, then go with the flow.

As far as I am aware, in the UK, we call it a facecloth...but I am Scottish, so there may be regional differences. As you say, it's for washing the face/body.
Funny you mentioning the quality of terry towelling from years ago, friend picked up a towel in a shop yesterday and remarked how cheap it was, I remarked how thin it was, so no bargain....she put it back. It really is a throw society these days.I have towels still in use from over 30 years ago.

I have just changed my bank account and will be around £300 better off in the first year. I know this doesn't seem like the right place to put this on the forum, but when you think of how long it would take you to earn this after tax, etc. or save from YS items, charity shop buys, etc. I really do think that if you qualify you should consider it. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the service I have had from my old bank but the offers from another reputable company were just too tempting. Particularly as we move away from local branches and onto internet banking, don't lose out if you are in a position to take advantage of it.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
