Word is Morrisons are going to be doing a £5 off £10 meat spend coupon in the Sun soon. ;)

I hated myself for buying the Sun last week for the £5 free fruit and veg coupon but I hated myself more for not buying 5 papers!

I am happy to hate myself again for the £5 meat spend coupon too :rotfl:

Thanks for posting, I will look out for it :)

    - If you have sandwich bar near you go there when they are about to close. Quite often there will be few Sandwich which expire on that date. If they are about to close it they will bin it. So if you ask them they will just hand it to you for free.

    - If you have hospital near you go there after meals time and search around the kitchen, corridors, quite often there is left over on the tray, cages which have not been touched by the patients.

    - If you have big supermarkets such as Tesco Extra, Sainburys, ASDA go there when they are about to close or around 20.00. They normally have heavily discounted food, meal which will expire on that date. Quite often You could get for instance Sandwich or other meals for 15p or less.

    - If you could not get all of these opportunities on the date the back up plan is Just to cook pasta. Two packages of Pasta just cost £1 in pound shop and this will be enough for at least ten meals.

    - Just east two meals a day instead of three ...

    - Cycle or walk to your work place if this is doable ....

Not really. This is not stealing, remember this is left over from the trays, cages.

You sometimes could get whole chicken pies, fish and chip left uneaten by the patients on the tray, cages.

All of this will go to the bin, as they will not be able to give it back to the patients.

People should ask the nurses, the servants, kitchen assistants before taking it. If you ask they will definitely say yes

    This is actually disgusting.

The reason most patients are in hospital are because, they are quite ill.

Imagine they have been coughing/spluttering/touching the food and you take it and eat it :shocked:

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

Yeah, the hospital thing for me is a bit too far. Hospital food is pretty disgusting anyway *before* a patient may have coughed/sneezed/touched it. Maybe that's one for the dumpster diving crowds only!

Having worked in a hospital I would never touch the food. Hospitals are full of ill people with various bugs, including Norovirus and worse. Many of these are airborne and the food will have stood around in that air.... No ta!

I must admit I don't think I could eatsomething thats been left .there is a reason why its been left ,normally because its inedible. My local hospital where I have been a patient I wouldn't eat hardly anything from there and my DD was bringing me food in.The most I could eat was perhaps toast and a cuppa ,even then the tea was vile.My nurse used to say I don't blame you not eating it I wouldn't either !!!

The last clearance deals are very variable and using 90% off. Though many times I have found that there is nothing of any merit there.

As to the pound shop pasta. I have found that the price per kilo is comparable to supermarket dried pasta. So check before the price per kilo before you buy.

Cycling is very practical if you are in city. An hour tube journey can be done in less than 30 minutes by bicycle. You also get a lot fitter cycling to work.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

This has probably been posted many times, but try serving your meal on a smaller plate. You might just end up eating less,so that the food you have lasts longer.

If you buy fruit and veg by weight, pick smaller items,so that you have more in quantity.

For example,I buy the lowest priced bananas, which are pre-packed.I always have a good look at how many bananas are in the pack, and go for the packs that nine or ten smaller bananas, instead of getting seven or eight larger ones.More fruit for the same price.
