Why not try Nikki 3 ply toilet rolls from Farmfoods/Poundstretcher/B&M (2x9 packs) costing £4. Thus you would have saved £3.75;)

Second that - I found them a while ago at Farmfoods & now have a local Home Bargains that does them. They are just as good as the more expensive ones. The Nikky kitchen rolls are good value too.

  • Small Nutella jars make excellent glassses.

I've just used a load of these (donated by a family member) as containers for rhubarb curd as my rhubarb plant's gone nuts this year and there's only so many crumbles I can freeze! The curd only keeps a week or so in the fridge, so these are an ideal size and are prettier than old jam jars (I do always ask for the empty jars back, with the promise of a refill later!)

Thank iris and silvasava will look at home delivery and Farm foods for toilet rolls.
Now looked and could not see home delivery. Nearest shop 19 miles away.

I like Tesco. it is the nearest big supermarket and Oh drops me off and collects me later with shopping in the car.

If I buy or recieve anything with a ribbon on it (such as PJ's from Primark) I always keep the ribbon from it to re-use on my hampers or gifts. No-one will ever know!

I usually cut off those annoying thin bits of ribbon from the inside of tops & dresses that tie them to coathangers, but I don't like to throw them out. Last Christmas I used them to tie the baubles to the tree, and although it took a bit longer to decorate, the little bows made it look really traditional and pretty.

Shame - but its not OS if you have to go out of your way is it?

As silvasava says, it isn't os if you have to go out of your way, but most people have one of the other stores nearby, so if you happen to be out and about and see one of the stores just pop in and try a pack of nikki. I think Savers and Wilkinson also stock them. HTH

I did my supermarket shopping last night. I go to Tesco around 4pm once a week.
First I look at all the diffrent area's of reduced, Then get what is on my small shopping list, then check out.

I spent 24 pounds on food items and 20 pounds on non food.
The most costly items are x2 9 pck velvet toilet rolls 3.75 each. I tend to buy enough to last so do not buy every week.

I now brand down on shopping a lot more. I bought him indoors x4 deoderant. x2 branded = compressed Sure @ 3.29 on BOGOF so 1.64 each and then x2 Tesco own brand @ 1.25 and 1 pound.
Bought myself the shops own x1 Tesco Pro formula crystal deoderant 1.25.

Another vote here for the Nicky Toilet Rolls. I buy the 18 pack for £4. Usually lasts us 3/4 weeks

I have started buying my deodorants in Home Bargains also, or Poundland. Sometimes Boots do good deals on them also. Never pay more than £1 for any of them.
Shampoo the same, I buy Herbal Essence for myself from Home Bargains for £1.49 - £2 and it lasts me around 6 weeks.

I find I can get more value for my money for my shopping now from Poundland, Home Bargains etc and don't do much shopping in Tescos now.
    Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%

Done it NOW! Just bought 1,150 PG tea bags from Amazon.
Was £19.89 but I got it FREE by using £20 of gift vouchers I had stashed from completing surveys.

I have had the ecoupons a few weeks so decided to spend them on helping keeping the shopping bill low.
    CHEERS! :0)

I do stick to brand name toiletries but never pay full price. When I find them on special offer I stock up until the next time I am getting low, then I look round for offers again.

What was I thinking of? Cooking a roast pork for dinner and have just used a Aunt Bessie stuffing mix. Says on the packet - marker penned the price on @ 90p at the then price.
Tesco' s own sage and onion for same weight just 40p
    I am swapping.

My saving :) = I used the boiling water from the parboiled roast potatoes to make the stuffing mix. Saving on boiling the kettle.

    Picked some veg from garden.
