My water butt is empty due to a blocked gutter but I'm still saving all my grey water from the kitchen and pouring into the water butt to save for dry days, until the guttering is cleared. Hopefully not something which will happen to you but there's always a solution.0

Cast iron pans will last a lifetime BUT I've got rid of mine because as I've got older I've found they are too heavy to lift when empty - let alone when they're full. Been slowly investing in some good S Steel ones with nice thick copper bottoms (bit like me
) Managed to get some nice Stellar ones in TKM from time to time.
I've also freecycled a lot of my old and unused baking tins - they were in good condition but now I'm retired I have more time to bake so I've been replacing those too with better quality ones.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Not exactly money saving but money raising - and it won't cost you a penny.
Please, please will all my friends vote for 'Oldies Club' (elderly dogs who are homeless because of the death of their owner, or owner is in care and dog is not allowed to be re-homed with them). It's a competition which can be accessed via facebook, twitter and google (so if you have one of each account - vote 3 times for the Oldies Club).
You can also vote by text
Text BIG BREAK 0616 to 78866
A few clicks from you and your friends could make £900 difference to a charity that supports very elderly dogs.

Thanks cuddles, have voted. I have older rescues, the ones no-one wants because they're halfway through their lives or more, and take what I've been told are 'unrehomable' dogs with issues like separation anxiety. Every one of my dogs, and cats, have lived a happy (and very spoiled!) life with me and they give so much back. Fingers crossed for the charity.0

If you're buying a pie/cake etc and its uncut then slice it up when you get home. This means you control the size of the slice (how many etc) and not someone else in the household that decides to cut a chunk!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Apologies in advance for this off-topic post, but I wanted to let Cuddles123 know:
I saw your post about the Oldies Club, voted, then looked up their website. The upshot is that I've offered Angel (9 year old greyhound) a home. I've had rescued greys for years (have three at present) so they were able to reference me immediately. I'm driving up on Tuesday with my three hounds (all oldies themselves) to meet her, and if all goes well and she likes us then she's found herself a family.
I wanted to thank you for highlighting this cause, and let you know that you achieved even more than you thought you would :-).
Best wishes to everyone on this forum - I'm a longtime lurker and all the tips on here have helped me immensely over the years, so thank you!0 -
