Good evening all.
Hope you've all had a gorgeous day
Bit of stress today.
Got a bit manic at the homeless shelter, but all good!
Doctors at 9.10am, which went well, before starting work at 10.30am
Bumped into a girl I know, outside my local, waiting for them to open up, at around 10am. She's a great girl, and it saddened me to see :-/
The stress was due to the Department of War and Peace...
They had paid my ESA into my bank account last Friday, so I then paid a couple of bills Friday lunchtime.
However, a couple of hours later, the DWP had decided to 'reverse' the payment, leaving me overdrawn at the bank.
A&L bank have now charged me £10 for being overdrawn for 2 days, and another £25 for an 'unpaid item fee', all thanks to the DWP!
Stayed surprisingly calm, while on the phone to the DWP, and bank..
A lady at the DWP said this morning, that she could see that it was their error, on her system. However, this evening, a chap there could not see what had happened.
The payment has now arrived back in my account, however I'm now short due to the £35 of charges :-/
According to the DWP bloke, it looks like (hopefully) the DWP will refund the charges, when I show them 'evidence' (I have screenshots of my online banking taken on seperate days, which I'll print off in the morning) at the Jobcentre tomorrow.
Very stressful phone calls (A&L won't budge, as the error is down to the DWP, so fair enough I suppose..) got me hot under the collar, however I have not drank..
I really feel, for the homeless chaps at the shelter, having to deal with these DWP morons.. :-/
My friend, and old neighbour of mine, popped into the shelter to say Hi, and also to ask me why I'd not returned his call yesterday. ( He'd left a message, asking me to join him to the pub, for a "quiet beer"..The guy is a self - confessed alcoholic, diabetic, with gout of the knee, and depression, and epilepsy..and he still drinks :-( )
I worry about him, but I politely declined to join him to the pub today too :-/
On a lighter note, it is a lovely, sunny evening, and it's time for chocolate!
Enjoy your evening guys and gals,
Cheers - Sim x0 -

Could you update me on there please?
Scrub the 5/31 - I've just worked it out, and for May, other than 2 days (10th and 11th of May), I've been sober every other day.
So, 22 days sober please DB! :T
