Hi,
DB glad it went well sweetheart and good on ya girl :T I would be far too shyI take my hat off to you, for being so brave. Hugs (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Miss P re: lawn mowing, I for one would not mow my lawn when I knew my neighbour had a small child and would be in bed. I feel your frustration, we used to have neigbours in our old house who were retired, they would mow their lawn at 6am. It used to infuriate me, as we had to get up for work. AND when on a weekend well ............................
Hugs sweetheart and thankyou for the update re: Jo. Oh and I meant to say Shaggy loved the sun today, thanks hunny (()) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Jo is shy? Not our Jo surely :rotfl:0 -
Totally agree re noisy neighbours at inappropriate times. When mine was doing a major extension, he started at 7 am at weekends and drove me nuts. Thankfully moved away now.0

Angie nips in to say a quick **hello** I hope everyone is keeping well & taking a day at a time.
Life has been pretty hectic for me since April & I feel like my brain has been a bit detached from the real world.
Started a new job last week but I am not happy about the shifts & I let that get all out of proportion in my head on friday night & ended up crying until about 3 am ! plus the money stuff is still dire....ie the lack of it...especially as I have to start saving soon for the MOT/tax on the car.
Oh dear this has ended up a bit of an offloading post:o:o:o....sorry guys...feel bit better anyway so thankyou for listening..:A
On the AF front I still hav`nt had a drop since 28 Aug 2009...thats 263 days. Lime & fizzy water is my tipple these days....LOL & sometimes I live dangerously & make it a double!:D
Take care everyone & have a lovely week.

What with that and MissP's neighbours out in the garden discussing sex lives. I live in the wrong place:rotfl:
Don't mean to make light of it, sorry:o. Of course, it's inconsiderate to be mowing late at night. Trouble is we have so little hot weather, we are n't really organised.
Well done everyone who's stayed AF despite sunshine encouraging drinks in the garden. I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow (actually today).

ShaggyWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

However, I couldn't stay stopped. I knew drink was no good in me, but I kept returning to it (even though there was less stress).
I need recovery to ensure I don't pick up today
If the book works - then great. I hope it does. Does it suggest you 'control' your drinking or actually stop drinking altogether?
I never read his smoking book, but my friends who stopped smoking successfully said that it turned you off cigarettes (that they tasted disgusting , made your breathing laboured etc etc). Does the book follow the same lines (that all alcohol is bad) ?
I'm always fascinated by other treatments - we are all different people so different things work for us all
Good morning everyone.
Hello, GC. In answer to your questions, the Allen Carr book is actually about stopping drinking altogether. In a nutshell, just like in the stop smoking book, he looks into all the reasons why we drink (eg. to relax, to feel more outgoing, to cope with stress, etc) and analyses each one in turn. He believes that it's all an illusion - that most people drink because it's the done thing, because 90% of adults drink, that we've all been brainwashed into thinking that we're getting enjoyment out of it when in fact drinking alcohol is just an addiction like any other. I'd recommend anyone to read the book and then make up their own mind - but it certainly struck a chord with me.Sober October = 0 alcohol free days
Weight lost so far = 0lb
No spend days so far = 00
