    Good morning everyone.
Hello, GC. In answer to your questions, the Allen Carr book is actually about stopping drinking altogether. In a nutshell, just like in the stop smoking book, he looks into all the reasons why we drink (eg. to relax, to feel more outgoing, to cope with stress, etc) and analyses each one in turn. He believes that it's all an illusion - that most people drink because it's the done thing, because 90% of adults drink, that we've all been brainwashed into thinking that we're getting enjoyment out of it when in fact drinking alcohol is just an addiction like any other. I'd recommend anyone to read the book and then make up their own mind - but it certainly struck a chord with me.

Sounds interesting. For me smoking was a total addiction. I got nothing from it, apart from it stopped the cravings. Alcohol was an addiction too, but I did it to change the way I felt. And fit in, etc

Though I don't know if 90% of adults would say they are addicted to drinking!! I am alcoholic, but I wear my hard hat if I suggest someone else is...

Allen Carrs book 'No More Hangovers' is still my bible.I often have a read back through it to remind myself of his ideas re drinking.
It was this book that helped me to give up completely along with this thread.

    Good Luck Mookiepook.

    Afternoon all.

How are we all? New look forums...takes a bit of getting used to!

Had an easyish morning. Mooched about it in garden with Piglet and have got a big pile of salad stuff ready for tea later. Looks yummy!

Not looking forward to going to work later....our work tops are quite hot:eek: and they don't look right with anything other than trousers. SO the trip to and from work in the car will be hot!!

    Miss P
