DB - we had a similar talk with folks at work - its funny when folks can 'take it or leave it' isnt it?

AF here - watching some tv and catching up on diaries etc :)

I hope you're all good xxxx

I think most people can take it or leave it. They know when to stop

I find myself on this thread as I can never 'leave it' (or if I did stop after a few drinks, I never stopped happily: I'd want to carry on). All or nothing for me.
We're the unusual ones, however I never knew that when I was drinking as a lot of the people around me were big drinkers, so it didn't seem my drinking was extraordinary. Since I have stopped drinking, I can see that it is normal for people to have a drink or two and then not drink more. I still find it amazing though :D

I know lots of people who appear and claim to drink little and oft and I have seen most of them loose control of drink at some point. After a couple of glasses your common sense fails. Thats why we like it so much as our minds become foggy. Why else would we continually put up with hangovers.

Most women will only admit to about 1/3 of what they have actually drunk, especially in front of work mates - its like when the doctor asks you.
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

    Morning Folks.

No AF news for me to report, I'm afraid. I've been a bit rubbish on that front this week. I haven't been going out and getting wasted, just the odd glass of wine and/or pint here and there and to be honest, I'm not feeling all that guilty about it as I had a pleasant time catching up with some friends I hadn't seen in a while.

But still, I could have been stronger willed and that bugs me a bit.

Not that it's an entirely valid excuse but work has been pretty manic this week and it's looking like I won't be able to start my DMP until July rather than June as I had hoped for so I'm a bit worried over what next month will bring in terms of creditor hassle.

On the plus side, a dear friend of mine is getting married in Sicily at the start of June and I found a return flight for £30 so I booked it. Perhaps it's not the best idea to go on a holiday before starting a DMP but I'm looking at it as a treat before I have to kiss those sort of treats goodbye for a good year and a half.

£30 isn't going to kill me anyway although I suspect the chances of me staying AF over the weekend of the wedding are pretty slim.

Going to stay AF today though, just to prove a point to myself more than anything.

Hope all is well for everyone.

Sorry to hear of your momentary relapse, Sim, let's hope that's just what it is. Today is a new day and all that.

Nobody's perfect. well, at least not all the time :)
    jusqu'ici tout va bien
  • Many thanks for the kind words.:)

Heath has an AF birthday later this month and they are older than me.:D

    'we love weekday drinking!'

Me too, if I'm honest :rotfl::rotfl:

Gosh I had a bit of a shock when got home today....my elec shower (no it wasn't an elec shock) has been playing up showing a low water pressure warning (gt fun - it keeps turning icy cold when that happens) & as it's only a couple of years old I thought first I'd get the water board to check things out....came home to find half the drive dug up with a 5-foot-deep hole with a pair of legs sticking out...I believe "builders bum" is the usual term - not pretty. After a lot of fuss & noise & 3 of my neighbours having their water cut off (oops!) they disappeared & still the pressure's not been checked - The Inspector has to come out & do that. Ho hum. Not entirely sure what they did do!

And also after all that I think the problem is the shower -google threw to light that it's a v common problem with this make. Thought it best not to mention it really.

Haircut tonight - always a worry. Do other people get that? I find it quite scary having my hair cut; I'm never confident about how it will turn out which has everything to do with my hair & nothing to do with my friend wot does it.

Um, wot a load of irrelevant twaddle! Off to do some weeding now. In the garden :D
