Shocking. One of my list of things I am glum about is my hair. It has gone very thin over the last year and turns out it is a hormone thing. They are deserting me and leaving the male ones floating about to do their worst . Isn't getting older fun :(

    DB x

My hair (so far...) isn't thinning but it used to be really REALLY curly (as in, in the 80s when it was the in thing even hairdressers used to ask where I'd had the perm done which I hadn't it was natural) but the hormone thing.....it's not completely straight but now just a bit wavy (& coarse where the grey bits are!) so when it grows it's a mess!

As you say DB, isn't getting older fun.....

P.S. this is facial hair we're discussing? ......:rotfl::rotfl:

Aah now you're talking. Hair disappearing from head is migrating to where it is definitely not wanted. What a lovely image :rotfl:

On the hairdressing note - I try not to go too often cos they always cut too much off in my experience - you ask for "just a trim" and come out with a short crop!

I got mine cut yesterday and agree with you totally. Plus she puts gunk in it when she dries it. But I go straight home and wash it again anyway so no harm done really!

I've managed another one tonight, so that's 6 for me please December Baby.

I'm likely to be mostly out of circulation now for a week and a half or so. Holiday time. And a leaving do tomorrow. If it goes badly then I'll be too busy dealing with last minute things and my hangover on Saturday. We'll see.

    Have a good week everyone!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Sorry GC but this cracked me up!!!! Your contribution to this thread is fantastic & I hugely value your input & opinion, but ha ha - I've feared the dreaded haircut since the age of about 10! Oh dear I'm almost weeping with laughter, I'm sorry luv ;) Biggest worry is how much my hairdreser has before she starts! (it's a mate - she comes to the house)

Fay - you're lucky not to need to go more often; I've got a right mullet (sp?) after 2 months.

& ICDT - usually my friend puts a colour on too - decided to do it myself last week & redecorated the bathroom......

    She's here must do!

I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true. :D The fact that it wasn't just me who used to hate it and get mildy panicky about it makes me think am not 100% crazy.

My alcoholic behaviour started before I started drinking. Many alcoholics say they felt that they didn't quite fit in when younger, years before they started drinking. The drinking changed the way they felt, and the descent into harmful drinking started then. Very gradual progress for most people.
Dunno what this has to do with haircuts?? :rotfl:Probably that it is never too late to change, and these are especially powerful changes when concerning very old behaviours (like hating haircuts)

For what it's worth, I enjoy going to the hairdresser. It's a lovely experience where I go and he cuts brilliantly so then I'm ok with it myself for the next few weeks. The trouble is my hair isn't straight enough or thick enough to just 'wash & go' but the blow dry is too much like 'big hair'. Not quite Dame Edna though:rotfl:

    3AF please DB

Very slow progress for me this month:o

    Graeme -

    Hi.

    Thanks for talking sense :-)

What you say about not quite fitting in makes perfect sense. My addictive / alcoholic behaviour / anything to feel different or to feel more accepted started way back.

I've never felt like I fitted in. Maybe due to being adopted, or changing schools before my friends did.

This sounds terribly woe is me. Certainly not the case, but sorry if it's coming across like that.

Graeme - How on earth did you get sober?

I feel at my wits end tonight. Can't believe I wasted all that money on Mon / Tuesday.

Didn't go to the Doctors when I was supposed to, on Wednesday. So, now I haven't sent the Doc's note into the DWP.. The f'in booze b@gger up everything.

I really want to start sorting everything out later today, but just feel overwhelmed.

    Kind Regards,

    Sim.

    Morning all,

    Hugs to you Sim ((()))

Sparkles, hope the eye's ok? xx

Well, quite chipper here, it's sunny, it's Friday and we are getting nice weather this weekend apparently. The only thing not going my way is that my hot water is not working  so got up extra early at 6am in case hair needed washing and it looks alright so loads of time to leisurely do the kids lunches and MSE surf :D

Please everybody, keep everything crossed for me that OH goes out on the lash tonight, I haven't had the remote control for a couple of weeks now!

    xx
