A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.
While on the operating table she had a near death experience.
Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?"
God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."
Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a
face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair colour and brighten her teeth!
Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it.
After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance.
Arriving in front of God, she demanded,
"I thought you said I had another 43 years? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the ambulance?"
God replied:
"I didn't recognize you!"

Good Morning Jo,
That was hilarious.
I needed a laugh, so thanks!
Have a great day,
Sim x0 -
Thanks for the laugh Jo!
Sim, Hugs going out to you from me. I find that for a few days after a session I feel low emotionally as well as physically. If you're crying all the time maybe find something sad to read or watch so you have an excuse?
When it happens to me all I can do is wait it out and make sure I eat enough and drink lots of water. Oh, sleep's good too. Hope this doesn't come across the wrong way as I know we know logically it's the booze having a big effect but when I'm in a really low mood I often don't think clearly and put two and two together at the time.
Getting out into the sun and fresh air for a walk alaways helps me, if I can actually manage to leave the house.
Have a lovely Friday everyone!0 -
Morning!
sorry folks, epic AF fail this week for me. well, not exactly epic but I have had a beer or a glass of wine after work each day this week. Thankfully I've steered clear of any after dinner drinking though because I find that really puts me on a downer and I start to overthink and that in turn leads to the insomnia.
I've slept like a dead log every night this week which has been brilliant.
Sorry to hear of your low Sim, trust me when I say that the way you perceive having hurt people is probably way worse than it truly is. You sound as though your self esteem has taken a bit of a battering so you're bound to see things in a negative light, especially if they involve you.
Try not to stress about the money you spent, these things happen and there is nothing you can do about it other than pick yourself up and make a conscious effort to avoid it happening again. Even a single AF day is all you'll need to put it behind you, I reckon.
With regards to the tearfulness, this is definitely something you should talk to someone about, a doctor would be best, because you shouldn't be crying about your problems or the hurt you think you've caused. You've done amazingly well recently and as your username suggests, you're on the up. Think how things used to be and how you turned them around and use that as motivation to do it again.
You've done it before so the next time will be easier than the first without question.
All the best.
In other news, I think I may be in love with a friend of my housemate. I was in the kitchen this morning and as I made my espresso from my trusted ancient italian coffee maker, I realised she was waking from sleeping on the sofa in the lounge. I apologised profusely for waking her up but I wasn;t aware of her being there and she said it was fine and that she couldn't think of a better noise to wake up to than the noise of espresso being churned out of a machine. I took this as an opportunity to further my apology so I offered her my espresso and popped upstairs to get something and by the time I got back dowen to the kitchen, she had expertly managed to make me an espresso from the machine which has generally baffled all visitors with its hideous complexity.
Apparently she had the same machine when she lived in Italy. We sat out in the garden in the morning sun, watching the dog chasing imaginary cats, supping espresso and sharing my last rollie.
A beatiful moment.
And I generally detest people, ALL people, at that time of the morning.jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -

"Brewers Blues" - someone told me of this phrase about 15 yrs ago - we'd had a heavy night & I mentioned the next day that I felt depressed but didn't know why as there was nothing wrong. It's quite common I think.
Sim don't look back look forward - easy for me to say & it sounds a bit glib but you can't change what's gone - you can change what happens next though.
Hi Jo - good joke!! :rotfl:
BP oh God you're not going to go all loved up on us are you? Is this gonna be a re-run of the Gold Blend adverts? (what is it about coffee?).0 -
P.S. my hair looks fine

Great news on the haircut, WB!
No, not loved up, I just thought it was nice that at last someone else can appreciate the beauty of espresso in the morning.
that sounded a bit Apocalypse Now, didn't it?jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -

Excellent RA!
As it happens, I've got a 12" of 'This Is The End' by The Doors from that soundtrack with the helicopter sound in the background, it's brilliant!jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -
Good morning,
Sim - I echo what everyone else has said. Only thing you can do is to change now and the priority would be to get that GP appointment. Call your surgery and get an appointment with the nurse TODAY if they don't have any GPs available.
Hair - I resemble Shetland ponies at the moment but can't be helped
Jo - That was brilliant! :T
DD was sick last night and was complaining achy tummy this morning so I am keeping her home. So I am working from home. She seems to be fine as as soon as she polished off her breakfast she asked when she can have her lunch. Ok - back to work..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
