Laser mole removal?

Did your friends get good results from Nottingham laser clinic?0

Ah, this thread came up when I did a google search for mole removal, laser.
My story... I have a flesh coloured lump on the side of my nose, which I have always hated, pure vanity nothing else. I went to see a doctor in around 1994 in Wales and was referred to the hospital, where I think I saw a dermatologist? He was really rude and made me feel a total idiot, his words were 'so.... tell me.... would you rather have a flesh coloured lump on your nose or a large noticeable scar?' I mean, what could I say to that, so I slinked off.
In around 2004, I went to another doctor in Cheshire and he said no problem, he would remove it in his office(!?), so he gives me this horrible injection and literally scalpeled it off! I was over the moon when it was done and it healed in no time at all and I at last, had a lovely smooth nose and decent profile. But the bloomin' thing grew back againI can't remember how long it took, possibly 5-8 months? So I just let it be.
In 2007, I decided to sort it out again, so I got a few quotes for private and went with a clinic in Derby. I told the surgeon it had been done before but had come back, he said it was a mole and they could never be 100% that moles would not reinvent themselves. Nevertheless, I had the horrible injections again and the scraping/slicing of the mole/lump off. Great exhiliration once more, that I was rid of the thing!
Alas, it returned once more, after around 6-8 months.
The End.
So now, I am right at the beginning of looking into laser treatments and it brought up the Nottingham clinic with a procedure called radio treatment.
Has anyone else had their moles/lumps grown back or had any advice about this from health professionals?

Anybody else had laser treatment?0

I have now read that laser treatment is not suitable for a lot of moles as it doesn't go deep enough to target the roots. I may have to resort to a surgical cutting out procedure.0

Is there someone who has had mole removal by radio surgery at the Nottingham Laser Clinic that can tell me how they got on?
I live a really long way from this clinic but its web site seems to almost guarantee little or no scarring. I had radio wave surgery (though I think the procedure was slightly different) for a mole before at a clinic in Kent and the result was not good atall so I am very nervous. Thanks.0 -
I emailed the Nottingham Laser Clinic with my story (having a flesh coloured mole/lump on my nose that has already been removed twice by shave excision and subsequently grew back).
I got the stock email response about their clinic. I replied again saying I wanted reassurance that if I had it removed there, would I get any subsequent needed treated free. They said yes. The charge is £300 which covers initial consultation, treatment, aftercare and any subsequent treatment that may be needed.
I've read about the radio procedure and it sounds worth a go, but if the previous poster has already had the same treatment and it wasn't good, then obviously I'm concerned now.
Really interested to hear from anyone that has used the Nottingham Laser Clinic.0 -
My radio surgery at a Kent clinic said they used the same treatment as Nottingham. I dont believe I had the "wave the small instrument over the mole so the water molecules evaporate" (Nottingham Clinic) in fact it was more like a v slight cutting feeling and certainly the result certainly looks like they did just that. My gut feeling is the clinic I went to in Kent is not up to the standard of Nottinghams but saying that how do we know when they all say they can do the treatment and leave no scar, its so hard to decide what to do. I also looked on Nottinghams website and their patient views page..one of the comments made by one of their parents was exactly the same comment made by another patient, word for word. Strange, why would a reputable company need to manufacture testimonials?0

Thanks for your post. Are you saying that you are unhappy with your treatment and you've been left with a scar?0

When my relative went for a consultation at Nottingham he was told that it is a unique procedure that they hold the rights for and they weren't going to train other people to do it because obviously they want to make money. As I posted before, they were very professional and reassuring and my relative does plan to return (when they have the money and also it is a distance to travel).
He also reported that Nottingham is a very nice place and the people there are very friendly!
I, too, would be interested in any feedback regarding the Nottingham clinic.

I am almost going for this, but I really just want to hear from someone who has actually had the procedure. I did a search for the doctors name online and he has a charge for giving banned diet pills, which is rather worrying, but then it is a 'cosmetic clinic', not a 'surgery'. But then, if a GP and a surgeon can both chop off my mole and it comes back, then maybe it is time for a cosmetic procedure, rather than a surgical one?
Then again, it's on my face in a very prominent position, do I trust this to a doctor, rather than a surgeon?
Hell I dunno.0
