yeh, the only thing i'm worried about is scars, as i feel i scar pretty easily!

I've got ultra soft skin which marks and scars easily, but I had a mole removed at the doc's. I too was worried about scarring so put it off for ages.

I needn't have worried, no scar, no mark to show it was ever there.

Why not go to the doc's and have a word anyway and see what they say.

I have a family member that looked into laser mole removal. Apparently, the possibility of scarring depends on the type of mole, protruding ones are easier to remove than flat ones. He went for a consultation at the Nottingham Laser Clinic as they have an innovative method of removal that leaves little or no scarring and they are the only place in the UK to offer this treatment. It is expensive, £300 for the first mole and £75 each for any others. He hasn't been back since (had to travel from London) as it's a bit of a way and has now decided to leave it until after the summer (you have to stay out of the sun for a good while afterwards) but he was very impressed after his consultation. Will post back if and when he has it done.

  • Yes I've heard about the Nottingham clinic. Are they really the only ones who do this new innovative technique? But does sound promising... thanks.

My relative did question them closely on this. They said they had the exclusive rights from the US and they weren't about to share it with anyone else. I thought why can't they franchise this and become millionaires but what do I know about business (apart from watching The Apprentice). My relative has a chicken pox scar on his face and the doctor said that if he leaves any scars like that (as another clinic said might happen) he'll give him his money back. Apparently they do have a lot of clients coming from London and my relative was really impressed with their hospitality and efforts to reassure him. So if you give it a go, please will you let me know how you got on.

    Best wishes

  • Thanks Sharlee sounds very promising, will post here if I end up going for it!

    Best.
  • Thanks guys, anyone heard of a cream called Dermatend?

Always sceptical about these sorts of products - did a quick google can't see any negative stuff on it? Anyone tried it?
    thanks!

Actually, I've decided to try this after checking out the feedback on ebay -

Will skip the bit about the pumice stone I think! Does not sound like a good idea!
Will let you know how I get on!

I had a quick look and I think dermatend contains bloodroot which can be harmful. Please have a look at this link from a rival herbal mole removal company before you proceed:

  • Eeek! that does look rather scary! I've done some further research on quackwatch.com and it seems that a lot of the scare stories are about the black salves containing bloodroot that were used for treatment of malignant tumours, however it is all about using bloodroot so thank you so much for alerting me to that!

The feedback from ebay from people who have used dermatend though does look very promising.

However -doing some more research - yes it does come from the dermatend website - I've come across some interesting herbal home remedies - including garlic and Apple Cider Vingegar! see here:

I have already ordered the dermatend but am going to try the garlic and ACV route first.

Have also heard about this website which looks interesting, but website seems not to be working at the mo:

Just had a quick look at your links. Will come back and read them properly later but if it does work how brilliant! I will pass this on. Good research.
