Laser mole removal?
Comments
-
Hi guys I have never wrote before but I have read all the comments. I had a raised mole on my cheek which I decided to get removed at skn in Nottingham as the procedure is done by a plastic surgeon so was told was likely to leave a smaller scar. I was so nervous but I plucked up the courage and booked an appointment which was within 5 days of phoning them. I was impressed with the clinic and dr matt smith who I saw offered to perform the procedure straight away. It has now been 6 days since it has been removed and it has left virtually no scar, just a faint line that I'm sure will fade completely. My advice is just go for it you won't regret it I am so happy I did. If anyone wants anymore info on skn just ask
Laser removal should not leave a big scar, that is the whole point of it. Sounds like they did a good "up sell" on you.0 -

I don't understand this post. How was he/she up sold? Sounds like they had an incision to remove it - which I would definitely prefer to be done by a plastic surgeon! I chose the clinic I chose mostly because I wanted a plastic surgeon sorting me out rather than a GP running a derm clinic.0 -
I see that my lengthy posts detailing an honest appraisal of my experiences have been deleted. I won't be using this forum again in that case.
What's the point of this place if posts attempting to offer people worthwhile advice get deleted? I certainly said nothing that anyone could say was libellous. An over cautious forum administrator lacking in intelligence to blame I'm sure. Either that or a clinic requesting that the truth be suppressed. Very strange and disappointing either way. Especially since many obviously self-written reviews remain.0 -
Very strange, my negative comments about Zenith have also disappeared from this site. I originally thought this was an impartial website which protrayed honest opinions. It appears to be nothing more than a sales tool for companies such as Zenith. very disappointed. Again for anyone who is considering using Zenith. They provided me with a quotation but when I went to have the work done it was 25% more than the quoted price. I am not sure if it was completely worth it as my face is still healing but I was not impressed by the clinic nor staff. I am very suspicious about the previous posts as they all appear to be positive. i0

I am writing on behalf of Zenith to defend the posting made by Juniormaca.
Moneysaving expert is not commercially run by us and is totally independent. All patients who have posted comments about their experiences at Zenith are genuine.
Zenith takes great pride in ensuring patients are fully informed of the costs of treatment before they get treated. There is a free consultation during which a patient is assessed and the costs discussed. It is good practice to send all moles off to the laboratory to ensure there are no malignant cells or other underlying problems.
You were clearly explained the costs during the consultation and you were under no obligation to go ahead with any treatment. Your history suggested that we send your mole to the laboratory thus the extra cost was explained, again before the treatment.
The costs of our mole removal treatments are very reasonable given that you get 24/7 care from the doctor and any follow up, reviews, and retreats on the same mole are included in the initial cost.
We have, after your treatment, explained this to you and would still request that you contact us to get any further clarification on this matter.
Kind Regards

Hi guys, I've read every post and I would like to know if any of you successfully removed a pigmented, raised mole with radiosurgery? (my mole is 4mm)
I'm worried because one of the comment here said that a surgeon told him it only works with flesh coloured moles and pigmented ones will still have the pigment back
Please share your experiences with me0 -
How can Zenith claim that all the posts praising Zenith are genuine? They could be made up. Unless of course Zenith put people up to registering and posting positive comments - that's the only way you can know they are 'true' in my opinion.
It is disappointing that MSE have removed negative comments about Zenith - but we have to remember that MSE do not have the money to fight libel claims through the courts and it's understandable that they will remove comments when approached by a slated company. I wish they would tell posters why though and put a note on the thread.
However, it's clear from reading this thread that Zenith Cosmetic Clinics have some unhappy customers, whether the posts have been removed or not.
Perhaps Zenith would like to confirm that they have not approached MSE and asked for negative posts to be removed.0 -
I'm really confused now. I'm desperate to have two moles removed from my cheek and I was going to pay for it this week. I've read extensively online about the different clinics and I had chosen Zenith but I'm not sure after reading this thread.
Are there any real people who have had the radio surgery anywhere in the UK and it has been a success? I'm not convinced that all the positive comments about zenith are genuine patients. I just want to get rid of these moles asap and I don't mind paying a bit extra or going anywhere in the UK
Can somebody please advise me?

Hello all
Firstly I wanted to say thank you to everyone who made apositive contribution to this thread (and, as a brief aside, to express mycontempt for the few individuals who found it amusing to attack others at theirmost anxious and vulnerable). I read thisthread when I was researching mole removal for myself and I found it to be oneof the most informative websites I could find. Having gone through the mole removal process myself, I wanted to add toit to help others who were in the same situation as me.
In my case, I went to the Nottingham Zenith clinic and wastreated by Dr Maini. I was verysatisfied with how they handled my initial questions (I basically interrogateda nurse over the phone for an hour with all of my concerns and worries, fromthe banal to the most outlandish – she was extremely patient and informative!). Dr Maini was equally helpful on the day.
I had several moles removed using the Radio Surgeryprocedure, all from the neck upwards. Most of them were flat (entirely level with the skin) not raised – DrMaini had no difficulty in removing these (this was one of my BIG concernsbeforehand – for all my extensive research, I had not found anyone who couldconfirm that the radio surgical procedure could be used for these). It was a little painful, but nothing tooserious. My major criticism is that Ithink the healing time was miscommunicated to me. It took about two weeks for the wounds toheal to the extent that the scabs fell off, and I had been led to believe itwould be more like a week to 10 days.
I would say it took a further few weeks before my face wassufficiently recovered to suggest that nothing had happened to it. Approximately 18 months later, the resultsare a bit mixed. In some places, youwouldn’t know there had been a mole present before – in others, there isdefinitely a lingering impression (although I wouldn’t call it a scar). However, overall I am happy with the results.
One final thing I would say is that it did not really helpme in my goals. The main reason I endedup having the facial moles removed was not that they bothered me (they didn’t)but because I was struggling to get women to like me (or at least not in a “friends”way). I could not understand what waswrong – I was fairly handsome (no Adonis, but far from bad-looking),intelligent and very rich (well above 95th percentile for someone myage in the UK). I tried long and hard towork out what was wrong and one of the things I did was the mole removal. It did make me look better, but it did nothelp my problem. If any guy out there isreading this and thinking of mole removal (or any cosmetic surgery for thatmatter) for the same reasons as I was, please allow me to suggest the one thingwhich did work for me: Read a book called“The Game” by Neil Strauss - it did not help me too much directly, but it toldme where to go for the assistance I required.
Very best wishes to you all and good luck to anyone who doesdecide to go ahead with mole removal.0 -
Hi!
I very recently had two moles removed at Zenith Nottingham Laser Clinic around ten days ago. I know it's a little early, but I'm already extremely pleased with the results. I've been so concious of two moles on my face for years, I'd looked into many, many techniques in regards to removing them, but with the moles being on my face my main fear was something going wrong/scarring, and if you've looked into various types of mole removal you would know how terrifying that idea is.
Then I found Zenith online and after reading several reviews on here, I finally had enough and decided to have them removed. Dr Maini treated me and was absolutely lovely - the entire staff at the clinic were. I arrived and obviously filled in some paper work, I was taken upstairs where Dr Maini discussed my moles, explaining the risks of scarring, healing time, etc, he was very thorough and said that if I was uncomfortable at the notion of scarring, then I shouldn't go through with the procedure cos there is always a risk. He took some photos of my moles and took a good look at them some further. The injection (a local anaesthetic) was a little painful, but most are and it literally only hurt for a few seconds. He then began using the radio surgery to remove them. Honestly, I think the entire procedure lasted less than five minutes and it was completely painless. It felt a little weird, but that was it. Dr Maini put the plasters on my two moles, I was given antibiotics and was told (again) about looking after them (stay out of the sun, do not put make-up on the scabs, etc etc).
Dr Maini did the procedure on a friday afternoon (FYI - I had the consultation and the surgery done on the same day as I was travelling from far away) and I was told to take the plasters off on the sunday morning - which I did. Scabs had formed and they've fallen off in the past day or two. Underneath where one of the moles used to be is a pink mark, it's totally flat. The other one is slightly indented (Dr Maini again informed me this would occur) but to be expected given it was deep and was only ten days ago I had it removed, it's also a slightly pink colour - I was told the skin would look like this, I don't mind either because it can be very easily covered with make-up.
I've started using bio-oil and wearing spf 50 (advised by the clinic) to help the process of healing, but I'm beyond happy with the results so far. Dr Maini was so friendly and put all my fears at ease, I genuinely wish I had this done sooner. Believe it or not, it's made me a lot more confident and again I'll repeat, I had this done just over ten days ago. He said it would probably take around six months for the marks to fade and I should have smooth finishes on where both the moles used to be. The treatment just requires a lot of patience, don't expect results overnight.
My personal advice would be that if you are self concious and do not mind the idea of a low risk of scarring (I can't answer whether I will have scars as it's too soon) then you should have it done. Believe me when I say the procedure has made me so much more confident in my appearance. It cost around £380ish (there abouts) for two moles and it was worth every penny when I think in the long-term because I'd have been so unhappy having to live with something I genuinely hated. All the best to anybody who does have the mole removal procedure done.
Just a quick note...regarding the suspicion over people reviewing Zenith with only one post; I only signed up to this forum myself today to make this one post (perhaps more if people ask questions or to update in a few months) and contribute something in order to help other people who are contemplating having the procedure done themselves, much like I was when I initially read this thread a few months ago. I envisage other people have done the same thing, hence the number of folk signing up solely to post in here.0
