Hi, I posted here around 12 months ago, as I was looking to have some bumps and a mole removed.

I went to the Nottingham clinic and Dr Mani did the surgery.

Initially I was shocked by the amount of blood after the initial treatment however, it eventually stopped - so don't be surprised by this.

I had a slightly raised brown mole and yucky to say also had a few hairs growing from it. This is now a slightly indented pink area, the hairs still grow (and I do remove) but overall it looks much better.

I also had two skin coloured bumps removed. Again these initially were indented but have improved over the 12 months. The main difference is that the skin in these areas is much lighter than my normal colour but with make up this isn't noticeable.

Overall I feel there is a compromise and you would have to be very lucky to get a perfect result - however, for me I would rather the results I have now than the bumps and mole I previously had.

Happy to answer any further questions if you want to send me a pm.

    :)
  • I am new in this forum, recently registered to share my story and ask quetions about removing moles with laser. I just had 2 small flat moles lasered yesterday, by a plastic surgeon. The moles are located on my face(nose & under eye.)
I stil have the moles but a lil more darker. She said there would be multiple session to laser them off. She said there would be 3 different laser sessions to completly remove them but each session is in every 6 weeks. Here is my quetion, why so long for each session? Cant the mole recover during this period? I have read in some stories that some moles only require one session, how do i know if i have one of those?

I will keep updating and revisiting this forum for answers and quetions. Hope to hear from you guys.
  • Hi guys,

Could the skin change color or become spotted after having laser treatment? Have anyone experience this?
  • Hello All

Went to Zenith in Nottingham last monday (10 days ago) had 9 moles/lumps removed.

3 on back, all still scaby, so do not know potential outcome for those.

3 flesh coloured on face, all scabs off. 1 looks really good, 2 are reddish/scar coloured at the moment.

    3 dark moles on face:
1 flatish and quite large, scab now off, and whilst showing a depression, I am pleased so far, and day by day the depression is filling in :
1 was warty type appearance scab now off looks very good, skin showing not quite flat yet :
last one was the oldest one, slightly raised mole, scab still partially in place but much smaller than original mole, and looks so much better already.

Overall - I am very pleased with the result even now. Thinking about going back to get some done on my arms next year, just see how things improve over the next few months.

If you really hate your moles - as I did - then what I have even now is such an improvement. I hated seeing myself in mirrors, even now do not mind them.

I did have bleeding, and changed the plasters a few times - take extra ones with you in case you need them. You do feel wierd walking about with plasters all over your face!!

The strangest thing is that whilst I was away for almost a week after the procedure, no one has noticed. A friend thought I had a couple of spots (the scabs), and the family (who I have not told) has not noticed at all, which I find very wierd.

I am so much happier already.

The procedure:- The injections were definitely the worst bit - but then I am needle phobic.
The actual removal process: I did experience some discomfort, like a sparkly feeling, but then I cannot have adrenalin in my injections so that may be the reason. I have had no pain since, not 1 painkillers.

Overall - the best money I have ever spent.
  • I have a mole/wart on my back that's big and I hate.Sometimes it dries out and gets itchy and bleeds. I asked my Dr about having it removed and he said it would cost £200 as it was cosmetic surgery! I'm surprised therefore to hear that other people had moles on their body removed on the NHS. He couldn't even tell me if it was a mole or a wart but claimed it wasn't dangerous. It looks weird to me though as it's brown with black specs in.

I wanted a couple of moles removing, and read this thread as well as a few other sources of information.

To cut a long story short, I had consulations at Snowberry Lane and Zenith on consecutive days as different people said each one was good/not so good. I had the treatment on June 1st 2011 at Zenith in Nottingham. This makes it obvious which consultation I preferred but if anyone wants me to elaborate on my experiences, I can do.

I've spent the last hour reading this entire thread and am seriously considering having some removed. I live in Nottingham so the Zeneith (sp) clinic is ideal for me. I have fair skin and have a few moles but at the minute i'd say there is about 6 that I want removed. One is just under my eyebrow near the corner which seems weird as the mole is brown 'at the top' but flesh colour raised lump underneath. I'm not sure whether the bump is a mole or not. It does irratate me though. The other moles on my face are all flat, at the side of my neck there are 2 which are more like small brown 'stains' than actual moles but I hate seeing side views of myself because of them. Do you think they'd be able to remove them too? I also have a mole on my cheek, which a couple of years ago became 'scab like' and I picked it off, but it took ages to heal. The other two moles are on my chest which seem to have appeared over the last year and I don't like going shirtless with these.

I know that you have to pay about £300 for the first mole and something like £50-£70 for each mole after, but I was wondering, if for example, I wanted to return a few months later and get more moles removed, would I still need to pay an initial £300 or will it carry on from £50-£70.

Also, I work with the public in a shop and don't have any holidays booked until the summer, but I want to get it done before then. I'm usually off Tues and Weds, but will I have to wear a face plaster when I return to work on the Thursday (provided I get the prodecure done on the Tuesday).

Any advice would be greatly appreaciated and i shall let you know how I get on.
House Deposit: £28,000 and still saving!

I have just yesterday had radiosurgical removal of a mole on my lip. It was around 5-6mm in diameter and slightly raised. It was done by Mr. Mullan of Medicetics on Connaught Street, near Marble Arch in London. He was a very nice chap indeed - and was flexible on the price as I'm a medical student about to qualify. I was exceptionally grateful for that!

If anyone has questions, please direct them to me and I will be happy to help. I can describe what happened, how it is now etc., and plan to take regular photos to see how the healing progresses.

Ps. I find it interesting seeing these posts about bleeding afterwards - I haven't had a single drop of blood. Just a small leak of straw coloured fluid that you'd get when you graze yourself.
  • Hi guys I have never wrote before but I have read all the comments. I had a raised mole on my cheek which I decided to get removed at skn in Nottingham as the procedure is done by a plastic surgeon so was told was likely to leave a smaller scar. I was so nervous but I plucked up the courage and booked an appointment which was within 5 days of phoning them. I was impressed with the clinic and dr matt smith who I saw offered to perform the procedure straight away. It has now been 6 days since it has been removed and it has left virtually no scar, just a faint line that I'm sure will fade completely. My advice is just go for it you won't regret it I am so happy I did. If anyone wants anymore info on skn just ask :)
