You were just venting and you knew it was in the wrong place. Sportsdirect are just like every other company and make mistakes. Personally not a fan of them, but this is really not suitable for grabbit. Do you think every other person who has a problem with a company that might appear on grabbit should post here ?

Do you think one persons problem (possibly a simple human error) which may yet be resolved to your satisfaction is going to stop people buying from them if the price is right ? Somehow I doubt it.

This is nothing but a RANT and shouldn't be here.

why not just post a moan in the correct forum and then every time there's a thread about sd just post a link to your experiences.
    Nice to save.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with Sportsdirect

The correct board is called Praise Vent and Warnings I think so perhaps a mod will have time to move it shortly

I would say it happens all the time. even in JD or JJB.

The only reason im still go to Sports direct is that their prices are around 25-30% cheaper than other sports shop. 50quid trainer will save you about 15quid.

Saw this earlier at top of grabbit board, maybe certain posters should take note as they seem to be very abusive to others!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    A note about this board.
    Grabbit unfriendliness

We've seen a raft of unfriendly comments from regulars making judgements on other site users, particularly newbies on this board, and I'd like to take a moment to clear a few things up for all parties.

    CONDUCT

We are mostly adults here and recently users are criticising others' posts in a manner that is unnecessary, to the extent where they are falling out with people. It's really not necessary and helps no-one, least of all the board and it just serves to make everyone's life a little bit more unpleasant.

If you notice someone's posted something you think sounds silly or wrong please take care how you word your reply. The over-riding motto on this forum has always been "be nice to other MoneySavers" and we'd like to keep it that way. If you see someone has posted such criticism please do email the abuse team on ____ and ask us to look into it.

What I will say is this: anyone who makes snide comments, is verbally abusive and a consistent disruption to this forum is in very real danger of having their posting privileges removed. People will make mistakes, and we have to educate not alienate. If you have a real issue with misuse of the board....contact us. That's it. We are here to sort this out and arguing on threads helps none of us.

    GOING FORWARD

So let's draw a line under this and start again. Remember what this board's about, remember not everyone is exempt from making a mistake and remember that we are all here for the same reason - to save money.

Be aware that we will be taking a firmer line and we won't hesitate to take action if things do not calm down.

    Thanks

Accepted this is the wrong board for the post, but thanks OP for bringing it to the attention of the rest.

I think I'm entitled to be upset to be fair, and i am, exceptionally upset. I can barely afford to live right now and my daughter's birthday is ruined. The manager gave me the option of returning the goods at my cost for a refund which doesn't rectify the situation.
As for my 'attitude' - I didn't ask to be jumped on. And yes, some of you do behave like Nazi's. I have had my fill for today. I hope none of you have to disappoint your kids anytime soon.

wow. holocaust vs heeleys? erm.. perspective please.
  • There are quite a lot of nasty people on the forums, I once had a moan on an Ebay board about something and was set upon by them. So now I don't bother, I just tell friends about any problems I've had.

I would be grateful of your advice not to rely on Sports Direct if I were tempted by their "deals of the day". I once bought something in store which didn't fit (their changing room was out of service at the time). I took the item back with all the tags in tact and the receipt and the girl on the till sniffed the clothing and said I had worn it and washed it (as it smelt of soap powder). I was surprised at this, understandably, explained that if I'd washed it surely the tags wouldn't be still on there but she wouldn't have it, she thought I'd somehow taken them off and put them back on just as they were. I also pointed out that if I'd washed them, surely all the dust from the trouser legs would be gone (which was from their shop floor). She admitted that the cleaner's were hopeless. I got nowhere with reasoning with this woman so I left. I then took the item to another branch when I was visiting family and they exchanged it with no question whatsoever.

So it seems some of their staff are perfectly normal and others are beyond belief, and it's pot luck who you get.
