Is MFD about? I wanted to thank her for mentioning the Debenhams codes, it was suggested that I buy new bedding to go with our new bed and I got lovely stuff for 15% off and free delivery.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Jenny - I think peas and raisins are meant to be ok. Holly doesn't like lumps, but she did manage to swallow a bit of my hot cross bun - I know because the raisin came out the other end!! Babies gag reflex is meant to be good so it should be difficult for them to properly choke, but I am still a bit wary as she has choked on toast, stage 2 jar, and a rice cake!! Although I think advice is finger foods from 7 months so not sure if Erin is a bit young, but you know how her development is yourself.
Glam/Jillie - while you are about - how much would your LO eat for lunch as a portion? I am mixing jars and home made. Would you expect them to eat a full stage 1 jar for lunch? I struggle to get Holly to eat half a jar. Not really worried at this stage, she is eating 3 meals a day, just small portions, but I just wondered what a "normal" portion is.0 -
Fitzio, Amber will only now eat a full 'jar' of food. She actually takes half a 7month + jar (which is about a stage 1 jar) and a small yogurt for dinner. For lunch she will eat a full fruit pot and thats it.
Well, now she is more or less on people food, it works out about a quarter of a sandwich, quarter of a pear, small bit of cheese.... But it's not much. She's happy though.
I should add, she is given more than that, but the floor eats a lot of it...0 -
Cheers Tia. Nipping off for a shower just now but anyone else who fancies replying, I will read them later. It's interesting to know how others fare.0

Molly eats a quarter-cup measurement of dry cereal with water/EBM and a couple of spoons of pureed fruit for breakfast, the volume equivalent of a stage 1 jar at lunch and about that at dinner, followed by a chunk of fruit or half a ricecake. She's 8 and a half months.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

well....breakfast he manages the equivalent of 3 teaspoons of food. just started on lunches now as thats what he will have at nursery, so he's having about 3 teaspoons of fromage frais. for tea he will have about 4 teaspoons of baby food. i give him some off my plate to gum. he shocked me the other day by gumming/eating half a rusk. i was so surprised but it think it may have been cos we were eating and not paying attention to what he was doing.
tbh i have no idea how much he should be eating apart from guidelines on the baby food boxes. heinz dinners and cereals suggest at 7 months he should be having 9 dessert spoonfuls. i;m lucky if he takes 1...
HV said that up to about 1 year its all about getting used to flavours and textures. and they only get concerend if after that baby is till refusing to have solids. as they still get a lot of their nutrition etc form the milk.
K is till having 5 bottles a day so dont know if i should 'drop' one to make him eat.
HV advised that as he struggles to give him the same foods every day for a week so he gets used to the taste.'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

Hi everyone, hope ur all well. Not been on much the last few days so gonna try and skim some pages.
Me and DH took T swimming this morning with some friends and their daughter. Had a lovely time, T is really enjoying it now and kicking loads. We thought he was gonna have a good sleep after but not so far, lol!!
We are a bit out of our 'routine' today, not that we have a great routine, but we slept in a bit longer than usual I think cos I left T on my bed at 6 and we didnt wake until gone 9!! So at least I caught up on a bit of sleep as he has been waking a lot the last few nights.
Reading the posts about how much food your babies eat with interest as I am never sure how much I should be giving T. I have the small Tommee Tippee pots and he usually has about half of one of those per meal, only doing lunch and dinners atm. Although sometimes he will have a bit more, if its fruit or something he really likes!!

Afternoon all..
I woke up this morning (well, Rhys woke me up) at 8am to find OH fast asleep in his computer chair *rolleyes* He'd even got to the point of the shutdown or log off screen and then zonked out! Rhys and I got up while he went to bed then after an hour he got up and helped me blitz the house. We have visitors due later on and the house is finally shipshape and shiny
Don't think I'd better confess how much Rhys crams down his neck.. Makes me wonder why I don't have a little chunk though. Must take after me after all!
Hope everyone is having a nice day in the sunshinexx
