Hello,
Back from visiting. Were at my aunt and uncles, and they were delighted to see Holly as the last time we saw them was Xmas Day.
It's dinner time for H, but she fell asleep in the car so letting her sleep first. Hard enough to feed her without trying it when she is tired! Then we are off out for Fish and Chips too, and a walk somewhere maybe with ice-cream. I can't believe how lovely it is outside. I have went out a few times this week thinking it's nice only to find Holly is a bit underdressed. So today she has tight and a vest on and it's gorgeous so she is overdressed!
I feel for you Maz, Csh and Jillie. I am dreading going back. And as much as everyone says I will be glad once I do it as it gives me adult company blah blah blah, I can't see it at the moment. I have loads of adult company! Granted, they all talk about babies (most of the time) too, but I don't mind.
Thanks to everyone for their feedback on food.
Jillie - I started making up smaller bottles for H, so she still has 4 per day, but they are now 7oz instead of the 8oz she used to have. I make sure that I offer her solids before she is offered a bottle though to try and encourage her, unless I know she had hardly any milk at the previous feed as I don't want her to not get enough milk. She probably has about 20-24oz per day. I will drop 1 bottle in a few weeks when feeding routine is more settled.0 -
Krystal - I didn't do half bad! Can't remember exactly, but the grand total was around £1k value of prizes...it's so hard to keep up with though, and I'm an all-or-nothing type of person which is why I haven't done it in over a year
. I miss the winning, though!
Thanks for all the BLW advice. I struggle with food issues as I don't eat much myself and hate cooking but I need to start making more of an effort for Erin. So cut grapes in half, nuts ok but chopped/flaked and generally lots of chip sized fruit and veg. What about peas and raisins? My sis thought the only way for them to eat peas was if they were mashed because of the shells. Are raisins too small to choke on?
Was lovely to see you today Mfd, thankyou for the t-shirtsand I hope the human dustbin didn't drive you out lol... Maybe next time I'll feed her first... Or have some bread in to offer you a butty
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

sounds like you all had a lovely day
must admit, part of me is looking forward to 'adult company' but i broke down the other night as deep down, i really dont want to. i'd love to stay at home but we just cant afford it. we are struggling with me being on mat leave.
K has 7oz bottles, never really looked for more than that. trying to time it so he has food 3 hours after he has had a bottle. so he's not really hungry, but hungry enough to try the food. some days it works but others it doesnt. cos he's a male and an awkward sod, he likes to have a sleep when he 'should' be having food. lol!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
quick q.... K has a bottle bout 4am, not sure if its hunger or thirst, would it be ok to try him with water to see if he will 'grow out' of this as i'm tired out from this and dont fancy it every night before work....
he has a bottle bout 10ish as well.
ETA: i always try him with soother first, but he gives it up after few mins and only a bottle will get him back to sleep'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
I'm now bored. Done lots of laundry and very proud of not using the tumble dryer once today. But now I am soooo bored.0

I had this problem a few weeks ago but it was 5am. I started him with Gooodnight milk as his last feed and now he gets his first bottle at 7am (7oz). Breakfast 7.45am, bottle (5oz) 9am, bottle (5oz) 11.30-12.30. Lunch 12.30-1.30pm, bottle (5oz) at 3ish, tea at 5pm and bedtime bottle(7oz) at 6.30ish. As you can see he just sits with his mouth open all day lol0 -
Jillie, I'd offer water instead, it could just be habit.
Ambers last feed is before bed about 7pm then thats her till 7-8am the next morning. Well, right now I'm offering her milk if she wakes but thats because she has been ill and not drinking a lot of milk during the day.0 -

One of the women I was out with on Thurs was advised to try a bottle of water on her baby when he wakes during the night, but she has been breastfeeding, so baby was comfort suckling. Not sure if it is the same for bottle fed, but I imagine it's worth a try. I think at that age they should be old enough to go 12 hours during the night without a feed so probably just habit.
At the moment, we are:
8am - get up
8.30am - Porridge
9am - bottle
12.30pm - lunch
1pm - bottle
4.30pm - dinner
5pm - bottle
8pm - bottle
8.30pm - bed
ETA - she usually has 3 naps a day after mealtimes too!
This week going to work on bed at 8pm. And it's all very rough as it just depends what we have on, and sometimes bottles will be before meal. If she hasn't eaten much at meal time, she might have a Fromage Frais or a Fruit Pot between times (but she really seems to like these so don't want to encourage them too much at the expense of other food).
The only thing she properly refused was scrambled egg!0
