Morning all. I hope everyone managed some semblance of sleep :) I've not caught up on anything since yesterday morning - yesterday turned out to be a really busy day. DH is working today and tomorrow night and we are going to the in-laws tomorrow day, and the allotment this morning. So I can see this afternoon will be a marathon hoover and floor cleaning session. Fun fun fun!

New verses to twinkle twinkle! I must seek these out on Google later. As well as track down this years eurovision entries to find out who I am supporting :) It is all go round here.

KOAG- I'm sure you have tried these things, but thought I would mention them in case they help, but feel free to ignore me :)

Firstly DD would love the sling, and a couple of other babies I know suffered with bad colic were the same. Not sure if it was co-incedence but we all had a wrap sling, which when tied for a newborn, they are quite upright and I know DD would be constantly burping as we were walking, as they massage their tums as you walk iyswim. Also means if they are screaming, you can march out your frustration/ carry on with chores/ make yourself a cuppa etc...I know E is a big bubba, but you don't feel the weight if they are tied well.

Also baby massage was my saviour. At first DD hated me touching her tummy but when I persevered she soon realised it would help her and she started to like it.

Like I say you have prob considered all your options anyway so feel free to ignore :)

Apart from that, then your time off you got sounds amazing book in your next slot asap and really treat yourself to a bubbly bath and a long nap!

Hello everyone - I read back the last two pages but I have to go again so can't add anything. Just wanted to say hello and ask after all your littlies. I hope the sick ones are better.

    MFD, how's Mr MFD now?

Any interesting news I've missed? I should be back this afternoon, official conference end is 1pm so I'll probably go to lunch with some of the research fellows and then come back here.

I am really lucky that we have people offering to have him, my brother and his wife offerd today as well, so we have 3 places he can go for the night if we need a break, or even a few hours, MIL took him on wed for 4 hours to give me a rest (stupdily I spent the time cleaning the house, but it really needed doing, next time I will be spending it in bed sleeping lol)

Take people up on that. Even if you just leave him for a hour and go and have a cup of coffee somewhere quiet, it'll do you some good.

Up early as I'm off to the 8am boot camp. Been up since 6am as my nose still hurts and I've managed to iron all the bairns clothes and get a load of our clothes out on the line already.
Here I go again on my own....

Offer of one arsey, grumpy, stroppy, nowty, ignorant male, aged 34. Used and in crap condition. Free to any home, as long as its not mine.

    Any takers, please.

    :o what does nowty mean?

Yeah I just took him up and he fell asleep on our bed so he's now in the cot. Can't leave him on our bed because he tries to lunge off it now.
I'm so tired of him not sleeping - literally and mentally. I'm even thinking I can't wait to go back to work so I don't have to fight him to nap during the day

D is giving me headaches too so you have my sympathy tho I will be a SAHM with no escape . He will go to sleep no problem at all but wakes usually every hour :(.
If he's competent enough to put carrots in his mouth then he'll have no problem with rice cakes, the disolve... And at 6 months they can have anything except honey and whole nuts... I was giving Caitlyn some biscuits at 6 months that said 9 months on the packet... I figure as long as she can't read it doesn't matter ;)

    :rotfl:

Kindof, big hugs, no advice but an endless supply of hugs

morning. Last night was a bit bad, but for the first time in weeks, finn went back to sleep after coming into bed with us at 6!

Fern, u know that's really good about the sling. Don't know how i forgot about that, but they are sooooo calming and can really be a lifesaver for getting on with housework, etc. Also, if finn was crying he'd pretty much always stop within 5 min of being put in the sling. (just to say i think it would really need to be a sling and not like baby bjorn because sling are soft and hold baby very close to u like in the womb. Try ebay if ur on a budget, but i love both my mei tai and my ring sling!)

Ss, u haven't missed much, only the formation of govt. Sami is PM and tia is in charge of defence against zombies. Tara does schools!

Aww cute GISI, what sort of finger foods have you been doing? Like carrot sticks and broccoli? I think T is ready to start more of this but I need to get my A into G and get some bits ready. The lazy mum in me is looking forward to when he can have the ricecakes I have bought as I think that would be easier for him to hold, as carrots seem to slip about and out of his little hand!! Nite nite GISI.

Henry has banana, carrot, cucumber, cauliflower (cooked), halved babybel....umm, can't remember what else!

I might have to get some of those rice cakes as I find it very useful to occupy him with finger foods while I eat lunch!

I dont see a new forum either

Well I am off to bed, good night all xxx

I know everyone says sleep when you can, but I found that sometimes what I really needed was just some time awake without baby so I could have a cuppa, go on here, clean, pop to the supermarket, whatever really. It just made me feel like I still had a bit of freedom, although sleep is good too of course.

Also I totally agree with Fernlibee and I loved my sling when H was younger (still do).

Henry slept through from being put down at 7 to 4:30. First time this week he hasn't been up and down all evening :j:j:j. I am so happy! He then slept till 8:30 so we all got a lie in!

nowty is a northern word for being a right old crabby, crosspatch, disagreeable person. or being awkward.

suprised no-one says 'mither' from the NW thats all i used to hear when i first moved here.

    like the new layout :)

and why oh why just as i have changed K's nappy does he now decide to poo!!

had a great time at nursery, still not slept loads so when i got in at 6.45pm he was fast asleep so no hugs :( and then when he woke at 10.15 he was just normal with me, like he forgot i'd not been there all day. :( all i wanted was some of the hugs and smiles DH gets when he gets in from work.

sami- did ed only start eating after bout 7 months? is he eating a lot now?? am still worried cos K will hardly eat anything

Presumably it's north-western as I've never heard of it.
