It's from the comping boards... There's a challenge to win something for every letter of the alphabet... I've won for B C G H I & P so far :)

Katie has 2 different bedtime routines 1 for daddy and 1 for mummy

Daddy - stays with her while she strokes his arm - he can be up there for ages until she drops off.

Mummy - 2 stories maximum, she flicks through the books we've just read, wave sounds on, light off, kiss and a cuddle and I leave the room. If she gets up I just return her to bed with no eye contact or conversation.

The no interaction thing was especially important tonight as she was trying to play hide and seek with me.

DH can't stand Katie crying, hence why he stays with her. I had to get tough when she was about 16 months and did the same as Tara.

I felt funny leaving Katie in Scramblers (Sunday School) for the first time last week, I'm aware that she is one of the youngest in the group and her speech isn't that clear and can be hard to understand - she was fine she came out once to see where I was sat and the other times that she wanted out the leader managed to disctract her.

The only other non-family person that Katie has been left with has been the CM.

Aless - definitely make all the right noises but make decisions once you are there.

Glam - no advice just a big (((((((hug)))))))))))

    Hi all :)

Sorry to hear those of you having bad nights with babies :( It's so tiring. You can cope with the daytime better if you have a decent sleep at night. Sometimes Caitlyn has whingey days where I just don't know what's wrong with her. She was squealing round Sainsburys this morning, half because she likes her own voice and half because she was getting stressed/bored. I thought she must be tired as she was awake at half 6, so though she would go to sleep in the car on the way home. But no, she cried all the way. Then my friend came round at 11, Caitlyn was still grouchy. I fed her and she fell asleep, but when she woke up half an hour later she was still in a bad mood.

DH is in Bradford, he's on call again this weekend. Both kids in bed so I've had a lovely cuppa and a jam and cream donut!

    Evening PP :)

My Caitlyn had a bit of a grump on this morning too... Although this afternoon she was ridiculously cute... She was resting her head on me in a cuddle and making "ahhh" noises when she did it :D

And on that note, I'm going to go and turn her the right way in the cot and keep my fingers crossed for a 1 waking night... (or none waking would be grand but doubtfull...) night all :)

  • I'm turning in too - my coughing baby is not settling well. Have had a lovely cuddle but the coughing keeps waking him up. Might have to see if I can get him to take another 5ml of Calcough.

    Night all xxx
