Weezl - could you ask OH when you should be concerned if baby teeth haven't come through? I'm not worried now but wonder if and when I should be worried! Ta very muchly :D
he says he'd have expected them to start coming by 1 year.

A possibility at that stage would be that they might x ray to check where they all are in the gum or they might wait til 2. Although it's hard to get a 1 year old to stay still enough for one!

He says it wouldn't really mean anything unless you or OH had about 3 teeth between you ever, and that that might be inherited.

I said from searchies pics on FB that you have very pretty teeth, so no worries there :)

Thanks everyone! I've been smiling ear to ear today, just wish I had managed to get my weight lower for today, then I'd of only had to wait 18weeks max! Doh! Means I should get it around Xmas time though!

Every area has different criteria for it, I asked the surgeon today and he said in Aberdeen, once you've met the criteria, you will get it as they get funding, but you do have to meet all 3 things that they ask. My stomach is an utter mess though, I was very glad I'd had a shave down below before I went and got the pictures taken (I made him assure me they would NOT end up on google!) had to stand their with my knickers down. By that point I knew I was going to get it, so I didn't really care about the pictures, because I feel like that's not going to be me this time next year. Let medical students gawp at my overhand all they like :D Goes in my file too, I will just die if I ever see those though :rotfl:

He reckons it will take about 4/5 kilos off me when they do it, cut from side to side, up to the belly button removed and then that skin leftover there pulled down taut to my pubic bone. Sounds lovely doesnt it? Gets rid of some stretchmarks in the process though :p

Beccles - From my mooching around websites about this sort of thing, Durham PCT are actually quite good about funding for this sort of thing. If you show it has a detrimental effect on your mental well being, and it's not just about asthetics (but to be fair, its about that to some degree, no-one wants to stuff their belly in their pants!)

First step is getting your GP to agree etc. First GP I saw was a t1t, so I found a nice one!

thanks weezl - I'm hoping he has a mixture of both our teeth cos I had a gap & a brace & OH has too many so a bit cramped.

I can see the teeth under his gums so they are definitely there just not appearing yet *sighs*

oh dear did searchie get one of me with my mouth open? :o

Weezl - I've just had a skim by why is Fergie a bit delayed? If it makes you feel any better, all Keira was doing at 1 was babbling and saying "aye" and her speech remained a bit bablefish until 3.

    Susan - i remembered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA - helps if I write it!

How do you manage to get Alice into her car seat when it is rear facing?
I planned to keep J rear facing for as long as possible BUT I am really struggling to fit him through the gap between the roof of the car and the top of the car seat. I keep catching his head when I put him in. I guess it could just be that my car is narrow but I don't think I'll manage it for much longer.

Can I whisper so as not to upset Glam that Edward got his first tooth today.

And not linked to that piece of news at all, refused point blank to let me cut his nails! His nails aren't all that long but they are very sharp and he's got a habit of pinching my neck and cleavage, and it really hurts. I did try filing them down with an emery board but that didn't make much difference, and he's not a heavy enough sleeper to do it in his sleep. Does anyone have any tried and tested ways of dealing with nails please.
