Thanks Ladybird, I was thinking about taking in expressed milk but Im finding I dont get as much now as I used to when I express. I have a bit of stock in the freezer but keeping that for odd nights for when DH has to put T to bed. I think I will keep expressing a bit daily to keep a bit in the freezer, then DH is gonna look after T for the day soon when I go to a spa day (yay) so we can see how he gets on without me being there for milk. If he gets on ok with food, snacks and water during the day then I dont think I will worry and like you say I will give some thought to him having formula at nursery if he needs a top up. Thanks.

Beenie is missing in action, Caz is too - I hope they are ok :(

Can I ask your opinions please. Now D is getting more mobile we have been discussing home safety. I think that it is not worth covering corners of tables etc as the covers are easily pulled off and D should never be left unattended. I know there is a chance he could bang his head but I feel he has to learn how to be careful..... DH is horrified by this... am I really lax? :(

I don't do stairgates, fireguards or corner covers .. or socket covers (you have to connect at least 2 points to get a shock)..

I had one burn her hand when it got trapped against the radiator the council had just fitted and put the valve and timer in wrong and the thermostat didn't work.. Other than that most of their accidents have been at school!

Heads are usually knocked at the forehead which is why the skull is thicker there to prevent brain injury.. they learn very quickly not to walk into hard objects as they hurt!

MFD: DD used to go into the fridge and smash eggs on the floor. Was her favourite game for a good few months and there was no fridge lock that kept her out. I cannot stand raw egg and I think half the attraction of the game was laughing at me retch while clearing it up!
On that happy note, I'm off to bed as its running too slow for my patience tonight!!

    Night All x

Benjamin is always in the fridge *rolleyes* and today he did find the eggs but I steered him away. He likes to stand there with the door open and press the button that switches the light on and off and then get the butter out and hide it in the living room somewhere!!

At the moment I have a hairband looped over the fridge door and the cupboard next to it which will keep him out for at least half an hour!!

  • Bruno - would it be too simplistic of me to say stop BF tomorrow?
I am sure it is but if it needs to stop why not make tomorrow the first day and get it over with sooner rather than later?

    HUGS to you both xx

You will be surprised at what they will do for others that they won't do for you. Especially when at nursery - even at that age they still conform to peer pressure!

Bruno - are you able to plan for when she will start weaning him and take a week off to co-incide? I know that would be really hard if I was to do that with Izzy (even more so because I'm not ready to do it - I don't think it would be quite as hard if I was making the decision iyswim). Could you cut down to start with? Stick strictly to only (say) a morning feed and a bedtime one, then once he gets used to that then drop the morning one, and eventually the bedtime one? Then by the time you drop the bedtime one you are only having a go-to-bed battle, rather than facing that battle after a difficult day? HV may have some ideas too?

:rotfl::rotfl:. We have the fridge at the top and the freezer at the bottom, and she isn't strong enough to open it yet. She obsessed with the eggs in Grannys fridge though - I have to watch her like a hawk!

  • On that note, I'm off to bed. One benefit of being a mum - at least after a week off work I don't need to get up any earlier than I have the whole time I was off. At least that bit wont be a shock to the system! Not sure if I will be on tomorrow night, and Tuesday is DH's birthday, so we are off to the pub, but I'm sure I will talk to you all later in the week.

Baby proofing - we have two stairgates and thats it. Our lounge is quite big and leads to the kitchen and the stairs. One gate stops him getting in the kitchen and one stops him getting up the stairs! He only goes upstairs to sleep or have a bath, and if he is out of bed he is only ever in our room with the door closed. I cant see that changing so thats fine for us! I keep him out the kitchen cos thats where the cat food and the cleaning stuff cupboard is, and their litter tray is up in the bathroom along with a bit more cleaning stuff, so he has no access to anything dodgy :)

    May I ask a non-child related wedding question? :p
For those of you that have got married or been guests at weddings, what happens when the reception venue isnt where the ceremony venue is? I have been looking at getting married in a hotel and holding the reception there as its all in one place and easy for guests, am I over thinking it all by thinking that might be a problem for people? What is common courtesy, are we meant to sort cars for everyone?
I have found a venue I like for the reception but they dont have a civil ceremony license so we would need to get married in the registry office.

People generally come to the service, pose for photos outside then make their own way to the reception venue... Or you can have the service as family only and invite people straight to the reception... Generally, if they can get to the registry office then they'll be able to get from there to the venue :)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
