Thanks so much for the report Lindsay. Was very interesting to read and you look wonderful in the photos (you both do actually- the one with your hubby smoking the cigar is great!).

Hope you get over whatever you may have soon.

Give us some more details when you can. Where did you stay? Any particular sights you'd recommend?

    Cheers!

sorry if a am just repeating what everyone has said but here goes
we got Married in The little white wedding chapel in Las Vegas in may. went to Clark county marrige office picked up the liscense and went str8 to the chapel without booking. were really helpful and nice paid about about £250 that gets you flowers , photos , internet for folks back home , limo back to hotel , and the cermony oh and a t shirt and Bumper sticker lol

tipped the sweet old lady playing the organ about $15 on top.
we took a helicopter ride over to the grand canyon after . flew over lake mead hoover damm and red rock canyon on the way.

i know it,s not everyones cup of tea but for us it was absolutly brilliant !!! i would not have changed a thing ..and Vegas is some much fun for your honeymoon too.

my argument is the same as others i don,t want spend months organsing and YEARS paying for a big a wedding for people who don,t ever go to church and then moan about the overpriced food they get to eat after.

my advice to you is simple > if you are going to get married in vegas whatever you want no matter how expensive or cheap , how formal or how wacky Vegas will be able to provide it .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    Hullo again all

I'm getting married in Vegas in 2 weeks (eeek! ) and was wondering how to get hold of our 'offical' wedding certificate asap?

We'll go to the court house on saturday to get the licence, married in the tropicana on tuesday where I believe we get a 'commerative' certificate and will then be leaving Vegas on the friday.

How long does it take for the paperwork to move? Will we be able to pick it up whilst we're still in Vegas or will it need to be sent to the UK?

    Cheers

Will you be able to pick it up when there, I doubt it.
In which case, make sure you buy a £10 money order before you leave, then when you are at home, all you need to do is send the paperwork you got from the chapel to the address on the back along with the money order and then post it. About a month later, your official certificate arrives in the post.

Since you will be getting a presentation certificate from the chapel, which lets face it is the one you will show people, then that has all the info on that would be required to change your name at banks etc. You just wouldn't post that to the DVLA for example, this is where the "official" one comes in.
I don't know what the usual time to change your name at DVLA is, but it took 6 weeks for the OH's, grr.

The official ones can also be re-ordered if they get lost!!!
