Have you researched Las Vegas tourist seasons etc? Flights and hotels may be reasonable in the summer months (june/july/august) due to the extreme temperatures in Vegas around then. Tourist seasons are spring and autumn.
Best to start checking flight prices for next year as examples of variation. Maybe also check hotel prices. As we'll be there the week running up to thanksgiving the hotels are actually slightly cheaper!0 -
Go Monday to Thursday and the hotels are cheaper, I think a lot of that is because many people come for a long weekend.
We went at the end of March and were out walking in a vest tee shirt and shorts at 11pm at night. Was still warm for dh wearing his full dress kilt ensemble...at least I think that's why he was sweating so much:p
Since you're travelling all that way why not honeymoon somewhere different?
We went to San Francisco for a few days- cool place to be and completely different from Vegas, a bit chillier too though, around 60 degreesFMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Yes we are going if we can for 2/3 weeks and going down the whole west coast.0

do your homework if you fancy LA, a couple of people at work went there and hated it, sprawls for miles, covered by smog etc....
we flew over it and can confirm the smog and how massive it is..
on the other hand there are some cracking wine regions north of San Francisco....depends on what you want to do/see. Not everyone wants to be out and about rather than relaxing.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Oooo...congratulations! You must be so excited. Have a lovely time and a report would be greatly appreciated (make sure you take notes whilst you're there:rotfl: ).
In other news my OH and I are considering the Valley of Fire for our wedding. It's not booked yet so it could still change but we're getting there!!0 -
My wife and I got married abroad last year. The marriage would have been recognised here, but to make it easier we also got married in the local registry office.Lightbulb moment: June 2006:shocked:

I'm back and deed is done, thank you for your best wishes. Feel free to watch, wink! 29/09 Lindsay & Karl, so much for running away, more people have seen this than would have been present!
A great time, recommend going abroad to get married to anyone. My first visit to vegas and never been anywhere like it, a difficult place to try to describe, but great fun.
I am just catching up with myself, jet lag really got me and was bitten by something out there which may be the cause (still having tests!)
I had my hair and make up done in the Stratosphere hotel and they where just great, bit expensive at £150 for hair cut & deep condition, pedicure and manicure and fully make up , but compared to here that's probably not bad just had not appreciated I may need to spend it, but I felt nice so it was worth every penny. The day of my wedding I realised I should have arranged flowers, but I found this fab florist on Sahara Avenue called Blossom and they did my lovely bouquet, 3 buttonholes and 2 corsages for the mums for £60 in an hour, brilliant!
Little chapel, nice place, clean, I went to one, I will report back when I remember the name, it was like a knocking shop, smelt of smelly feet and was dirty. They forced us into the limo after getting our licence, depsite telling them we had booked, and then expected a $50 tip!! He then tried to sell us a fast service for getting our offical licence back for $30 but after declining we found out this was a bit of a con. Back to the little chapel of the flowers, a bit disappointing but did not spoil it for us, we paid extra to have our wedding on the net, all of our friends and family stayed up half of the night to watch and they did not put it on becuase they forgot to ask to sign the release form! They also missed out the candle lighting part I paid extra for. Friends and family had bought gifts off there website which they did not give us. The lesson to anyone else going is to ring them on the day and remind them what you have arranged, as it was too late afterwards for us. I am finding it impossible to get a refund for these things.
The best part of all of this was that I opted out of using the chapel photographer because I wanted photos around vegas not just in the chapel. I picked Trent off the web and spoke to him before hand, he was sooooo great and our photos are fantastic and I highly recommend him to everyone. the best part is for just £350 we got 400 photos and a few hours around the various sights of vegas and some really special memories. https://www.trentblackphoto.com If we had not had him it would have been all of the 8 minutes at the chapel, but a couple of hours having your photo's taken like superstars was so much fun and not something we have ever done before.
We had our meal afterwards at the top of the stratosphere, and the view was fantastic, worth worth a meal for a special occassion when in vegas.
Here's some links to a couple of photos (hard to choose which ones out of 400), so you can see how great trent was for ordinary us.
Hope that helps someone else. Lindsay x
