My ratings are fine for item as described (4.9), comms (4.8), dispatch time (4.8) although p and p can be improved (4.5), this said most of my sellers have given me 5 (over 70%) a couple 3 or 4 stars and I also have 2 rated 1 or 2 stars (I know where one came from as she left me a positive but said postage was high- funny as I actually gave her a bigger discount than normal on combined postage!). Not had an email as yet though......am a private seller.....obviously I would love 5/5 and try my best to be a decent seller, have also learned from initially doing p and p a bit too steep (was less greed and more silly not to weigh and get a list of costs....yes I know ebay tell me too lol!).

  • Honestly, I charge people the exact cost, or sometimes it has been less and I have lost out! I really don't know why I have this score.

I sell 20-30 items a day all with "free P+P" and still have the average rating of 4.95, last month i had 2 low stats too.

Oh and international shipping i only charge 50p + no extra cost for additional items (when most international items cost me £1.31 to send)

Maybe they mean it's a month for Royal Mail to sort it out. It's 15 days before Royal Mail consider it to be possibly lost and you can put in a claim. Probably is closer to a month before they admit it's lost though.

    its 15 working days,not 15 days

the DSR system is just BS, i dont know why they even set it up, i guess it might be to edge out the lil people so the BIG firms like argos tesco can cut in,... i donno

Wait dont it do some thing to your Listing via a buyers Search ?? puts you lower in the results etc ?

I agree. It really is BS.

I've just started selling again on ebay having taken 18 months out after stress of trying to hold on to powerseller rating (took up betting instead, which I decided I'm much better at ;) ). Last few items I've listed, i just did the basic listing options but I used to use the featured listing thing that puts you up near the top. Do the DSR ratings now impact on that? Before, I'd never dream of listing without ticking it, but last week I tried listing a laptop and it went for 30% more than others, and items I'm listing now are at the top of their category. Not sure I like all the ebay changes (II'm still relearning certain rules) but its a nice surprise to be near the best match results.

Do the old ebay hacks still work, such as being able to edit a listing despite bidders, and fake the number of ratings / powerseller status etc :rotfl:

Spot on....My sentiments exactly...and of course as a seller you cannot leave neg feedback anymore....theres enough on youtube about DSR...ebay is constantly changing under different CEO's...the out of control snowball wants to get bigger..in the end buyers will be the losers eventually because all there will be is BIG firms selling as you stated IMHO...

I just had two emails from ebay on my main business account, one telling me that my credit card i use for fees has expired and my account is in danger of being limited unless I immediately sort it out, which is odd as I pay via paypal. The second congratulating me on having top rated stars and achieving perfect 5s in two categories and inviting me to submit some sort of blog about how to achieve this so that others can share in my success (frankly it didn't make much sense).

So, to get rid of the limitation notice I had to cancel my paypal payments, set up a new credit card for payment, then cancel credit card payments and reinstall my paypal as my method of payment.

Oh and just to add that my expanded seller dashboard shows em in danger or losing my powerseller status as I have insufficient UK sales (most of mine go overseas), but I am not a powerseller?

    Confused, I am!

They have been working on the ESD recently so thats more than likely the reason.

It still looks odd though as basically it shows I need 100 sales to achieve power seller status and mine are 151 which flags it up as an issue and warns me that losing my top seller status means my sales may suffer so i need to take immediate action. So I have more than 100 (it doesn't give a time period) am NOT a power seller nor am I a top rated seller, so what exactly are they going to take away from me?
