I too am a business seller, have been for 10 years or so now, hmrc have always known about me. Don't think I'll ever become a power seller though, I don't sell enough as ebay is only my second source of income, but I'm self-employed and do sell on ebay for a profit (well that's the idea anyway!), so I don't think it's fair to pretend to be a private seller. I could probably "get away with it" even with the new rules on business selling, but I don't wish to.
Do wish they'd abolish those stars though...
Nor do I. I think you missed my point. I put my 'success' on Ebay down to working with their policies rather than against them.
I give free P&P (in the real world we know it's not free) and get 5*
I post same day.
I reply (automatically) to all emails.
I describe and describe again, use personal and stock photos.
So as a result, I do what they want and the buyers perceive a fair and good service. I do give that, don't get me wrong. I bend over backwards and beyond. But I do it within my business module.0 -

At the end of the day, a seller on ebay has to give better customer service than any other retailer around as we get hit the hardest for the slightest little complaint.
I don't think a 4.5 is quite low enough to trigger the email so you will have only got it if people have been rating you 1* or 2*
Link to announcement thing: http://sellerupdate.ebay.co.uk/april2010/raising-minimum-standards.htmlThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
i cant understand why a buyer would leave poss fed back and then mark you down with the stars? there seems to be no way to find out who has given you a lower mark... i would wish that buyers would either say 'im not happy with this product/service etc' so that the problem can be sorted before an account gets frozen...Life is like a box of chocolates........
too much all at once and you start to feel just a little sick...._ _pale_

I have found it now. I got one neg feedback in January from a girl who tried to make me pay a cleaning bill for a bag over a month after receiving it. Firstly, it was a brand new bag, and secondly, she mysterioulsy "lost" the receipt she was trying to con me into paying. I told her to send it back if she was not happy but never heard anything til she left neg feedback and obviously marked me 1 for everything.0 -

Which is totally wrong, because it had nothing to do with p&p. Does it bother ebay?? Not a chance.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

Ebay make their money from sellers but do nothing to support us. I think they should make it that no feedback can be left whatsoever until both buyer and seller have clicked a button or something to say their side of the transaction is complete. It is terrible that someone can win an item, not pay for it, but can still leave negative feedback and the seller only has the option to leave positive. Also, buyers who don't pay should get an automatic negative from ebay.0
