Bailiffs - Parking Fine - Please read

Hi all this is my first post, but I've been doing lots of reading :o

I'll jump right in and tell you the story...

I've been unemployed for about 7 or 8 months, I use the job center car park (council) at least once a week (looking for work, signing on, etc) and have done so for the the duration of my unemployment. I always put a ticket on my vehicle.

About 6 months ago I was in the job center signing on, my girlfriend was waiting in the car park in my vehicle when the ticket man started taking pictures of my tax disc etc. He mumbled something to my girlfriend but his english was very bad (my girlfriend had no idea what was going on)

Anyway, I come out and she tells me what just happened. To which I showed her the ticket on my windscreen and that he was wrong (he had disappeared into thin air at this point) - So long story short, he put a fine on the windscreen even though I had a ticket with plenty of time left on it

If I'm honest, I should have gone straight down to the council about it. But in my mind I'd done nothing wrong so why should I have to. I got a letter about it to which I responded saying I had a ticket. I heard nothing more of it. Until 6 months later I have a bailiff at the door. There's been letters here and there but I hardly receive any of my mail due problems with it. The parking services say they sent me 5 letters and never received any from me. :T

So to bring it up to speed, I have bailiffs bothering me at the house and trying to get over £200 from me  - I've got them on hold for 7 days. I've been in contact with the parking services and they kept me hanging for 2/3 weeks to then tell me they can't help and I can't do anything but pay.

I still have the original fine he put on my windscreen and my ticket, clearly stating the time etc. Also when I challenged the parking services about photos, she said yes there is photos. I said so can you not see the parking ticket on my windscreen, to which she replied in a quieter tone "no, the pictures aren't very clear"

What can I do? I have my ticket still, and they even admitting you can't see properly on the pictures.

Please help me

(I'll be contacting C.A.B today too)

ermmmm...donr ignore official letters in future is a good starting point, and copying the ticket and sending it to the local parking control people seems a bit too obvious to mention realy

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Get in touch with bailiffadviceonline asap. they deal with this sort of problem.
Also post on pepipoo.com as they have a wider range of experience than on here.
Is this definitely a council ticket? Which one? Can you photo both sides of all paperwork rec'd. If its definitely a council one host the pics on tinypic and copy the url's and paste on here less the http:// bit.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I already know this, hence me saying it in my post. Weird. Also I have already sent pictures of the ticket to them, it doesn't seem to be helping.

Oh and I tired that bailiff advice site, tried to contact them but was a little put off by this
With many people having access only to a mobile phone, or even calling from an office where 0906 numbers are restricted, we have introduced a brand new service where, for a one off fee of £10 you may send us a question which we will respond back to you via e-mail. This will ensure that you know exactly how much you are spending and will allow you to contact us from either your home or your office without the worry of a large telephone bill.
