My girlfriend is with N&P which she has been with since 2008,and I can defiantly verify they credit checked her on Experian at the time.

They might have changed now mate but at the time it was defiantly Experian.

And MBNA for there credit card.

What CRA do they report account conduct to in your girlfriend's case ? presumably they didn't report conduct in 2008

The N&P credit card was operated by Halifax a few years ago before MBNA took over

I think Halifax issued the N&P credit cards in 2008 rather than MBNA

Yeah she never took the credit card out, not sure about account conduct on experian but defiantly conduct on Equifax.

Strange really its the same as Tesco's on their website they make a point that applications are done through Equifax, but we all know they search Experian.

Very odd , out of the 97 entries on the first page of this thread the only firms to search one CRA and report exclusively to an entirely different CRA are N&P current accounts and Zopa :footie:

I am still a little bit sceptical because you say it is your girlfriend's account rather than your own and I am unsure whether you checked both Equifax and Experian at the same time and for how long the account has been reported to the CRAs

For example you say the account was opened in 2008 , so the search would have dropped off in 2009 - so if you searched in 2009 you would not have seen the monthly feed if that only started in 2010

What does it say in the "payment history" , "terms" and "current balance" fields ?

yes they still have that on their website - for loans only , but this thread states they search Equifax and Experian for loans

Right after 10 minutes of persuasion girlfriend looked on her experian report, and absolutely not 1 thing on there linking her 2 N&P.

Does not even show her up to date credit history from the N&P.

Also don't quite understand when you say you are sceptical because I say its my girlfriends account but not mine, probably because its blo0dy not mine for fu*ks sake I am with barclays.

I hope she didn't pay for a new Experian report just to check that :p

What about Equifax - when was that last checked ? :D

because its second hand information and most people on this planet dont have any interest in which bank uses which CRA and whether they report account conduct or not

Were you present when your girlfriend opened the N&P account in 2008 ?

Thanks Dr_Cuckoo3 and star-fire for the latest updates, all information is appreciated.

I would like to canvass some opinion about an idea I've been thinking of: would it be useful if I marked certain entries with a symbol (such as an asterisk) to indicate that the majority of reports suggest that a particular agency will be used? A good example of this is Barclaycard and Tesco Loans where most forum posters report that they used Equifax but a minority report that they used Experian (my personal experience is Equifax in both cases).

An example of how it could be presented:

Barclaycard (incl. Bhs, Hilton HHonors, Orange, Priority Club, Thomas Cook)
    Search: EX, EQ*
    Report: EX, EQ, CC

    • Do you think this would be useful?
    • Will adding more to entries make them more confusing?
    • Could it be presented in a better way than suggested above?
    Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed.

Yeah underground its a good idea HOWEVER it needs to be NEWBIE proof,

IE a discalimer indicaring what the asterix/star relates to, such as:

please note items marked star * are reported as that cra has been mostly used, etc

    :D
  • Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me? I opened a Barclays cash account about 3 months ago, but it dont seem to be reporting to Experian.

Should I speak to experian or Barclays about this matter as I was under the impression they did report to experian.
