Following Dr_Cuckoo3's comments above I have added some orange asterisk symbols (*) to entries to indicate my personal experience when applying for credit. I hope this will be useful, please do let me know what you think.

You are quite correct, Tesco Bank is now financially independent from RBS. However, they are still using RBS systems to process credit card applications and administer credit card accounts. The following links show the application pages for both a NatWest credit card and a Tesco credit card:

Look at the website addresses, they are virtually the same bar the references to either Tesco (TPF) or NatWest (NWB). So these are 'white label' RBS application pages branded accordingly.

Also, the address for the main RBS card processing centre is:

PO Box 5747
Southend on Sea SS1 9AJ

This address can be found on the statements of all RBS issued and administered cards. Type the postcode in to Google and see what comes up.

Where did you get that quote from? Was it from the credit card section of their website? They use Experian for their credit cards but definitely use Equifax for their loans (personal experience), although there have been reports that they have sometimes used Experian for their loans as well.

Indeed - this is my experience

Prior to taking out my Zopa loan I applied with Tesco loans.

They searched Equifax prior to agreeing an APR and sending out the documents to sign, and searched Experian when I sent them back.

I had a problem where I was incorrectly issued a CCJ, I thought I had sorted it out because it had been removed from both Experian and Equifax making my file clear. However I just checked callcredit and its still there! I need to get that removed and have the paperwork to do this but I was planning on buying a new car on finance and wondered how much if any affect the wrong information on callcredit would make? Both Equifax and Experian are clear.

Thanks for that. It doesnt seem like many people search Callcredit but its just a pain because it shouldn't be there in the first place.

Yeah I didn't check equifax as cancelled them both now..

soooooooo just had a nosey at my equifax report there and was pretty surprised to see my clydesdale bank account on it,

is this a sign of things to come people are clydesdale now using equifax aswell?
