My experian file was searched when I obtained a quote for home insurance from Direct Line.

Bit cheeky really. I had NO searches until then.

I suppose that was buried in the:

[x] I agree to the terms of obtaining this quote.

Doubtless I will be inundated with junk mail and begging letters from Direct Line now which I will just post back to them with no stamp.

Next time I want an insurance quote I shall use a false name and a different flat where I live of the same style as mine.

I doubt it will be very long before the local Pizza delivery will be doing an Experian search to make sure you live at your address, the local chippy and the window cleaner.

This all needs looking into. I certainly won't be filling in the electoral form any more.

Lol karatedragon that won't surprise me atall.

    They are listed as reporting.

They don't report any more - Equifax removed all the BT accounts whilst BT "Investigate the quality of their data". Which suggests to me that Equifax got fed up of customers raising notices of disputes against invalid BT data so they closed the doors and said not till you shape up, BT! :o

    Just for the record:

"It is estimated that your BT account information will be visible again on your report by the end of August 2010."

I've been watching that space for more than a year - it's always in the future (February, May, now August). Come end of August, it will show "end of November".

I'm annoyed by this because I'm deprived of a good account conduct report until they keep "carrying out internal quality analysis". And at the same time, I would not be suprised if they are still be able to access my account conduct via CAIS without a search

In protest, I made a habit of clicking 0% every few weeks at "Did this answer you question" on the same question on:

    https://equifaxuk.custhelp.com/
"Why is my BT account information no longer appearing?"
