Many lenders check with more than one CRA these days.“Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

I was declined for a Natwest account earlier in the year. I have a spotless Equifax report and a ruined Experian report.
I applied online, they searched Equifax, said I'd been approved chequebook card etc, sent through an agreement to sign and return and they'd open the account.
Got a letter a week later to say they've opened the account - and another from the AVU to say they closed it! Both on the same day! The AVU had searched Experian after I returned the signed agreement for an "Approved" account
Didn't you apply for a Coventry First Account LMAO!
They do that - send you a Telephone PIN and stuff then send the cheery-oh letter when they check you out.
It's like leading you up the garden path then kicking you off the doorstep.
Are you doing the rounds of banks at the mo?0 -

Lol yeah I applied for Natwest in Feb and Coventry a couple of weeks ago. Just those two. Natwest was more of an experiment than anything else to see how their AVU works.
Coventry did similar yes sending me the telephone banking PIN then saying NO; Natwest went even further by giving me an account number and sort code and then saying NO :P
It's OK though I seem to have got on the right side of LTSB now so I'm kinda glad the others said no, blessing in disguiseCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Don't jynx it! Seriously... But it's interesting it happened when it did. My ex and I used to hold a joint account with LTSB which we opened a few years ago. A couple of months later we closed the joint account but kept our sole accounts. Just last month my ex closed his LTSB current account so he no longer has any products with them, and BINGO! my CPD marker drops off for the first time since the account was opened. I think LTSB may have been linking us despite my going through a notice of dissasociation with the CRAs and not holding joint products. Can't be sure, but it's quite a coincidence...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
