I don't particularly want my BT account on my CRA file. I purposely left British Gas because they decided to do that.

Next to Natwest it has Experian and Equifax - does that mean they will search both or will they randomly search one of them?

Thanks. Guess I'll need to get hold of an experian credit report then - I'm hoping thats why Santander rejected me anyway!

Oh you work for Natwest - I know you probably don't have any figures for it but do you know if they are fussy with who they give their student accounts to at all?

Everyones circumstances are different the best way forward would be to get copies of your credit report before you make any more applications to check for any adverse data.

Yeah, I don't have any adverse data but I'm assuming they think I'm overstretched as I have quite a few credit accounts.

My experian file was searched when I obtained a quote for home insurance from Direct Line.

Bit cheeky really. I had NO searches until then.

I suppose that was buried in the:

[x] I agree to the terms of obtaining this quote.

Doubtless I will be inundated with junk mail and begging letters from Direct Line now which I will just post back to them with no stamp.

Next time I want an insurance quote I shall use a false name and a different flat where I live of the same style as mine.

I doubt it will be very long before the local Pizza delivery will be doing an Experian search to make sure you live at your address, the local chippy and the window cleaner. I notice British Gas has jumped on the Experian Bandwaggon too.

This all needs looking into. I certainly won't be filling in the electoral form any more.

yeah you need to, whenever i get a car insurance quote i use a previous number i had changed and put my address as cardboard box street then add my real postcode, proper quote no further contact etc

sometimes i even ACCIDENTLY mistype my dob and surname

funnily enough NEVER see any credit searches.........

when i find a quote im happy with from a company im going to use i then visit there site typin in all my details correctly and double checkin so ive not made any mistakes as i ACCIDENTLY tend to during the initial quotation phase,

sad what needs to be done so ure not called 24/7 or mailed all the time..
