Hi I have all the green ticks on Experian, but I applied to equifax for the trial, they took my bank details, but they wont let me on,it says my name is WRONG, yes I do spell my first name different, but things I have applied for have not shown on my credit expert, please could someone help, because I am worried about equifax taking money out of my bank and want to see my credit history, ! thanks hope you can help......anyone please ?
Sounds like you need to contact Equifax to help them confirm your ID. You should also make sure that your CreditExpert profile includes all variations of your name, otherwise you might not being seeing all your data.I hope you checked your experian credit score b4 applying LOL
Of course

He probably gets it free - as an employee of the company :whistle:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi guys
In respect to my previous post. Nationwide will log a search on experian but they deffo went through my equifax file in detail.
If anyone is uncertain on who uses who? just call a lender, speak to an underwriter and ask them who they use? ask them are they certain, even quote all 3 agencies! If the answer backs in to what you already believe to be correct then you shouldn't have a problem.:j0 -

As per my last post i have an alright experian file but a god awful equifax and callcredit report, I got turned down with nationwide (who deffo use equifax as they leaked out why I had been declined and it was connected with things only on my equifax file) Also got turned down by santandar a few months ago
I dabbled with the idea of using Brittania who i know don't use equifax but they confirmed with me today they deffo use callcredit as well as experian.
Having discussed this situation with my mortgage advisor we did some checking out and turned out that Halifax only do a experian search.
To validate this he even spoke to one of the senior halifax underwriters who confirmed this!
Sure enough put the application through and have been approved straight away for £300k worth of borrowing!
I hope this helps everyone, good luck with this helpful thread!

My experian file was searched when I obtained a quote for home insurance from Direct Line.
Bit cheeky really. I had NO searches until then.
I suppose that was buried in the:
[x] I agree to the terms of obtaining this quote.
Doubtless I will be inundated with junk mail and begging letters from Direct Line now which I will just post back to them with no stamp.
Next time I want an insurance quote I shall use a false name and a different flat where I live of the same style as mine.
I doubt it will be very long before the local Pizza delivery will be doing an Experian search to make sure you live at your address, the local chippy and the window cleaner. I notice British Gas has jumped on the Experian Bandwaggon too.
This all needs looking into. I certainly won't be filling in the electoral form any more.0
