I wouldn't worry too much, Dell have obviously seen this for the marketing opportunity it is and committed themselves in the national press to fulfilling these orders, but it will take them some time to get through the list, some of you will remember the Woolworths thread and similar delays but so far as I know everyone got their gamecube in the end.

Just imagine the size on the spread in the nationals if Dell decided to go back on their word, it would be a marketing disaster for them and they are spending a lot on tv ads at the moment.

Presumably the reason some people haven't got their orders processed yet is because they're doing double orders for some others by mistake!?
Anyway, I got my first machines today and just set one up - fantastic. For £201 you can't go wrong, although the 17" value screen isn't particularly good compared to my old Sony one. But my son is well chuffed that all his PC bits are now the same colour, rather than a rag-tag kit of parts like he had before.
Just waiting for PC World to deliver my graphics cards and then I'll be able to run 3dMark2001SE to see how this compares to the machine it's replacing.

I'm sure everyone will get theirs sooner or later, I wont hold things up by complaining about my double orders going through

£201?? You have been ripped off Biglugs and twice if the 2nd order comes through I take it you went for a bigger h/drive or something, I'm too lazy to trawl back through the posts to find out.

Yeah - I paid the extra £15+VAT to upgrade the HDD to 80GB - didn't bother with any others though.
Just been playing with the machine. For those that are interested I got a score of 1,805 in 3DMARK2001SE with just the onboard graphics - not so great when you compare it with my son's PIII 733 which gets 3,000+ using an FX5200 128MB graphics card. The Dell plays Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban reasonably well but it's a bit jerky, hence the need for a video card addition.
If Slimk wants to know where to get one of these now he or she should try eBay - there's a whole load available now that deliveries have started arriving, and only about £50-£60+delivery more than Dell charged.

Placed an order on 28th Jan. Never had a web confirmation or email with .pdf attachments and got the usual run around with the customer care team. Got put through eventually to an account manager who said that the orders were now being dealt with alphabetically and they would persoonally look into my 'business' order.
Got a call on 10th feb to say the order was now progressing. Nothing more until Wed of this week when I got a call saying the PC would be here on Friday of this week! Got an invoice in the post today confirming te order and price - fingers crossed!!

Same here, absolutely nothing apart from the email on 7 Feb., despite numerous calls and emails.

I did read a post somewhere saying that Dell had told them yesterday that everyone who has ordered one of these would be contacted within the next two days - so I'll give them until tomorrow PM then ring 'em (once again) if they haven't contacted me.

alphabetically? Well im a C and quite a few people have theirs already. so full of bs are dell
