At lunchtime I received a follow-up email which asked me to send them my Internet Receipt number if I hadn't received an order number.
This email was immediately followed by a second one asking to recall the first email, but with no explanation given as to why! I assume the reason for this is that the first email was addressed to a very long list of email addresses, which for reasons of customer protection should NEVER have been sent out!
    So much for Dell efficiency.

Needless to say I responded to the first email immediately (i.e. I gave them my IR number) rather than letting them recall it.

Now I just have to sit back and wait for my PC to be delivered.

have just received email from Dell advising that the price quoted was in error but that they are going to honour the order and that I can expect further communication shortly.

I must be one of the lucky ones.

The same thing happened with me. What did it mean recall?

They want us to allow them to recall the email (i.e. remove it from our systems). I assume this is because all of our true email addresses were shown in the email, which they DEFINITELY shouldn't do for reasons of customer confidentiality - just trying to cover their backside presumably.

Together we can make a difference.
  • I received 2 e-mails as above, responded to the one they tried to recall & received a new quote for the same spec & price as the original.
I was asked to confirm if i wanted to proceed with the offer -
    which i think i shall!

    sorted!

I replied immediately to the email they tried to recall but didn't get an order confirmation back yet.
I hope they respond soon - I want to order a graphics card for this but not until I've got it in writing that it's going to come.:D
