Yes, they can pretty much do what they want. Unless that take the money, you have no rights. I emailed them 3 days ago, but I still havent got a reply.
I think its time to forget about it, and move on.0 -
result.
after Dell blatantly telling me that my order did not exist I simply asked for Head Office address and fax number and lo and behold 5 mins later they had found my order and advised that it was being processed.
So, keep at them and see what you can get from them.0 -

Ooo, you've just inspired me !!!!!
Spoke to a really nice guy whose's gotten on the case for me ! Agreed that 1 week was far too long to keep a client waiting for confirmation ! Has personally advised other department to contact me with oder no etc. before end of play today !!
Ooo, I'm soooooooo excited !!!! (Sad aren't I?) Fingers crossed !)

I emailed Dell 2 days ago asking for confirmation. I received a reply this morning saying they couldn't find it and could I send my internet receipt or address.. (despite me already having given them my internet receipt and Dell customer number - I am a business customer albeit not 200+ employees). Anyway I have replied together with a copy of the confirmation screen with the exact model setup I ordered. I am now waiting for the next response.0

I was told that I would definitely hear by Monday what was going on. So I said could I phone again if I hadn't heard, and she said, yes, but you will definitely have heard.
So ... I'm expecting an e-mail with multiple choice:
Thank you for your attempt to order with Dell.
One of the following may have happened, but we're not commiting ourselves, and cannot be held accountable to anything we say in case you actually think we might be a professional business:
a) Our hard drives have crashed and our engineers are currently searching through the magnetic media with a magnifying glass trying to recover your order. This may take up to 30 years.
b) Order! What order? la la la la la can't hear you la la la la
c) Our pet anaconda swallowed the emc2 unit and we're currently disecting it to try and recover your order.
d) Hello - Domino's Pizza0 -

You're right this does look rather too long for a geographical number. I got the number 0134486045641 from https://www.saynoto0870.com . Maybe it's an international number, in which case I may have been better sticking with the 0879 number.0 -
The number I have is 01344 3731960

I ordered this system at 5pm last Friday.
A call to Dell this Tuesday confirmed that they had the order but had "configuration problems" and to call back today (Fri).
Called today - order is still recognised but showing "pending". Woman was "not sure why this was", gave it some thought  then said she'd email 'someone' to call me on Monday morning. Not impressed...0 -
I ordered a very similar offer from Dell that was posted here before xmas. It was also offered in their business section and I guess, having no business, you could say I had no business ordering. They still honoured my order and it was delivered within 7 days.
There's still hope!0
