Just phoned Dell and spoke to someone who couldn't find my order based on my name and post code. He said that I probably didn't finish the order process.

So I went back in my history and found that I reached a page called enthanks.asp which is the thank you for your order screen from Dell, and the URL also has an IR reference number in it.

So, then he said he'd found it and I'd been passed to the privelage care team or something, and transfered me, and they then subsequently couldn't find my order.

Now I'm waiting for them to phone me back.

I reckon they're just cancelled these orders and are hoping no-one complains.

I too phoned Dell this morning and after giving the guy my reference number he told me that the order was in a queue and awaiting action from somebody. He said that if I hadn't had email confirmation before Friday this week to phone back. We'll see what happens but it looks like they are trying to process the orders. He told me that there was a backlog of orders too so be patient,it may come good in the end!!

    Fingers crossed :)

despite having a valid order number from when I placed the order DELL have informed me that they cannot find my order on their system even when using extras like my email address and postcode.

    pathetic and very unimpressive service.

Well if its anything like the missprices before Xmas, then some orders will go missing and then out of the blue turn up on your doorstep 6 weeks later when your CCard is least expecting it
I had one that they were adament didnt exist, I sent them the saved web page with IR number and a week later they phoned to say they found it and did I still want to complete the order.
They are sometimes very sloppy, other times quite efficient.
All Dell'd up ;) several times over :)
  • Both of my orders cannot be found either. So I guess that means they have cancelled all the orders. They could have at least sent out an email explaining the situation.

I phoned them up - and after the run around, and a couple of phone calls back, they confirmed the order did exist, and that it would be actioned, they're just a bit overloaded at the moment.

They did ask me a couple of times if I was a small business or a home user, to which I said a small business - just started up a web business :)

So the nice lady is going to try and speed them up, cos I can't start on my new project until I get it ;)

I just phoned them only to be told that my order had been cancelled because they reckon that i gave them incorrect credit card details, they said that when they tried to get the money , Barclays refused because i hadgiven them the incorrect number or i had given them the wrong address (what a load of crap)
i insisted i had given all the correct details, he told me that he would phone me in the morning before 11am
  • I called this afternoon, they have my order and it should be processed within 48 hours, and as above I was asked if I was a business. (nothings been reserved on my credit card yet though).
