    me not heard either
If you dont ask for discount you don't get discount
  • I agree with biglugs -
I think they tend to give these over-subscribed bargains out to those with customer numbers already.

I've ordered bargain machines for mates before because I have a customer number. New buyers have been messed around (and this lot really mess about!) where as I seem to get everything pretty quick.
We'll soon see but its been over 72hrs since I've ordered and nothing as yet..........

Unfortunately I don't think this is an oversubscribed bargain - it looks almost certain that this was an underpriced web error (again), some of which they may honour - just depends how much kit they have sitting around that they want to shift.
    Still waiting.....
p.s. for anyone wanting a complete Dell system but don't want to pay over price for it, try ordering the base unit from Dell and the monitor from Aria - they have 17" Dell CRT monitors for £52.82+del or 19" ones for £78.67+del - cheaper than Dell are charging!

  • Very low spec, and you have to deal with Dell, which can be insanely painful.

Very good deals. I've used them before, nice kit.

The cheapest system I can find following your link is a P4 2.8GHz "Grade 2" system (whatever that means) which is very similar in spec to the Dell one we are hoping to get.

If you add in the cheapest monitor from buyit247 the price comes to about £359 with delivery - more expensive than the Dell system with a 15" TFT screen.

Personally I would put up with Dell's rubbish service for the (little) comfort of a longer warranty and a Grade 1 system. Especially if we get them for £183.

I ordered on Friday lunchtime at 2pm as soon as I saw this offer, and have heard nothing. Support website fails to recognise your IR number.
I assume they're doing the sensible thing when they get a huge pile of orders following a misprice - delete all the orders and do nothing until customers ring up?
Those that do ring up get told it's a pricing error and orders have been cancelled, those that don't ring up they don't care about.
So - I'm going to wait a few days longer just in case!!:)

For info - someone on DVDreviewer website who had ordered the Dell has rung up and has had it confirmed that his order is being processed and not to worry - even though he has had no order number sent out.

Quote "He then went on to say its in the "red" phase and that it meant it would be going down to the factory or something very shortly and that i'd have my PC probably by the end of next week.".

It doesn't mean we will all get them - but at least no-one has confimed a cancellation yet... and from above it looks positive.

    Ooh! Now I'm on tenterhooks!
I do recall that when I placed my order there was a notice on the site that orders were currently taking around 9 days to complete - which I took to mean build and delivery, but may have meant process?
Still if I get this my boy is going to be chuffed.
