  • Just checking in for a needless update. It's like premium fruit juice on the DF front - nothing added, nothing taken away.
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Glad to have you back again!

Aw thankyou! Daft but I didn't think of it like this. Doesn't matter what I pay off so long as I pay something off!

Ok, i'm starting again so it's £1000 off the extra bit of the mortgage caused by window problem. My aim is to have paid this off, plus the rest of the barclaybard by christmas. I'm going to do it with ebay and extra clients.

I may have the Credit Cards paid off by the end of this month if my husband's bonus comes through on time. If it does it should be around £2,000. I'll use £1,000 to clear the cards and put the other £1,000 in premium bonds and start saving towards clearing the Sainsbury Loan - don't you just love snowballing!!

This challenge won't end for me until the lot is paid. Every time I pay something off I'm going to start again with the next debt.
Total Debt November 2016 =£9,660.52

    Monthly Repayments = £593.09

I've just sold a phone on Ebay for £126.03 so that comes off the total I owe my mum.

I've also listed 11 more items so here's hoping they make a packet :D

I agree with you Never_again - the challenge won't really end until everything is paid off. Are you going to keep going until you have cleared everything then? Will you just add another debt until it is all gone? If so then I'll be up for that and will keep on going. I could keep this up for years ;) .

    Emily :D
  • Pretty much. I'm not going to add it all together at once because that is incredibly daunting, but every time I make the last payment of one I'm going to start again with the next one on my snowball list. I can't believe that by the end of this year I'll be into the teens. If my plan is realised, I should be debt free by the end of next year (unless I win big on Lotto/ Premium Bonds, etc!). I’m happy to hang around on this thread for as long as it takes - it will probably become the longest running thread on the site!!

If you don’t mind me asking Emily, how much more have you got to go?

I've never actually admitted on this site just how much debt I am actually in so here goes.........

My name is Emily and I am approximately £40,000 in debt - there I've said it :p

Terrible considering that I am only 25 years of age  - and please don't ask what I have spent all that money on because I really don't know. A lot of it was holidays that I couldn't afford, about £10,000 of it is Open Uni fees and just a load of other junk!! I am paying it all back now though which is the main thing.

I'm going to go and hide somewhere now.......

    Well done!

Its a big step telling people - I still cringe if my husband tells anyone how much we owe - he once told my Mom and I didn't speak to him for ages, I'm embarrassed I suppose.
Like you I have no idea what I spent it on - Although I do remember buying four tickets to Carmen with no idea who I would take, just because I wanted to see it and spending £300 on three football tickets from a ticket scout for a Christmas present for someone - I’m sure there a numerous accounts of recklessness that I have since forgotten about.
I'm 25 too. Most of the debt accrued between 18 and 24 - It hasn't gone up since which is a good thing.

Ok. Rather than listing all the little payments I made, I've added them all up under headings:Started with £1077.48, paid off with £285 wages from second job £180 Tutoring fees £168.63 Amazon earnings £15 ebay £428.85 Repayment of loan to dad.I think that's it. As I've been paying off straight in to my overdraft, all the little pennies here and there have added up too I suppose - That's what has meant I could use so much of my wages.I suppose I'd better stop rambling and go back to work now! I feel like I should have a party to celebrate, but that wouldn't be very DFW of me now would it?!
