Its a big step telling people - I still cringe if my husband tells anyone how much we owe - he once told my Mom and I didn't speak to him for ages, I'm embarrassed I suppose.
I know EXACTLY how you feel - this weekend, I went with my boyfriend to visit some friends of his, and he quite happily announced at the top of his voice that I was selling all my books, CDs and videos on amazon - Now, I'm a real book fiend, and it has hurt to part with all my beloved books, so it was really humiliating when his friends were like "oh, isn't that hard?" YES it bl**dy well is, but it has to be done because I'm up to my eyeballs in debt! I was mortified! Boyfriend was baffled by this, and said he'd been telling them because he's so proud of how hard I'm working, but that doesn't really help much - I just wanted to crawl into a hole!

Am still hanging in there! Am aiming to pay off my overdraft before it expires on the 19th October and the bank call me in for a little chat!

Well done to those that have reached their targets :)

Not too bad, I will clear it all eventually as we all will :D

I feel a bit better now that I have admitted just how much I owe
  • I don't mind telling people on this site, but I would never tell other people. My husband is quite happy to discuss it with anyone - but I absolutely hate it that people know how much debt we are in. I can't wait to be rid of it.

Things have slowed down again with regards to the challenge. I worked last Saturday at the most boring wedding ever!! So I should be paid for that tomorrow, but no work this weekend so I don't know how much progress I will make. Also OHs bonus won't be paid this month, so my original plan has crashed and burned already. Never mind.

  • I am hanging around but I just don't have anything to report.
I'm not even sure who is still in the challenge. Perhaps everyone that is still in should just post to say Hi so we know who's about?
