  • Don't worry LA - me too. Its a challenge but not a competition remember (to make us feel better!).

Some people started off with smaller balances too.

Yip, so long as we all pay something off then we've all won. Also, I started my challenge at £895 so I really have to get to -£100 to be the same as some of you guys. Keep counting those pennys!

Payday from Job number 2 today! That's another £150 off the total. Woohoo  That leaves me with only £50 until I get tutoring money on sunday, but I can't think of any reason why I'd spend that, so fingers crossed for a bit more of the total after the weekend!

    That's a brilliant point SS - thank you :)

Although I am running unofficially, it is good to be reminded that it is not a competition.

    Well done to everyone

I was feeling a bit foolish at the start, when everyone else was powering on and leaving me in the dust! But then I thought, "well, I'm doing it to get debt free, NOT to win" and I felt much better. Plus, as peoples paydays come at different times LA, some of us will progress while others hang back, but then they'll catch up so you just have to keep going - there's nowt to lose is there :)

I think that you all should be patting yourselves on the back - every little bit of debt reduction is a postive step - so keep on going.

The other half of the money arrived this morning! Hurrah!

I've also taken the £14 saved in my £2 jar to the bank (not enough for a bag so they got it in pieces :p ).

    That's another £44 off then!

    Off to update the sig.

I can not believe it!!!!!!!!!!! I go away for the first time in 2 years for a weeks stay with friends and you all start this fab challenge with out me!!!!!!!!!! Thats it! I'm not talking to any of you for the next 30 seconds......................ok your forgiven now.

I was just wondering....as long as Emily (and the hallert head to head chanllenge gang) don't mind, I'd like to propose a chaalenge to start the day the kids go back to school 5th Sept, a challenge of the first person to raise £500, again with 10 people in the group so we can keep track. I'd start a new thread so as not to hijack this one. If anyone is interested then please PM me and the first 9 people + me will start on 5th Sept. ( Ps please excuse all the typos I have false nails on and it makes it impossible to type).

Anyway I will now stop knicking your thread, it is another great idea Emily, I have never known anyone make paying off debt fun. ( I bet all those rich people with no debt are secretly jealous because they can't join in :rotfl: ), good luck to the original 10 and hopefull see another 10 start next month.
