    OK my total stands at £1102.25 as I got a bit of money for selling an old mobile.

    Went for an interview today as a Weekend Receptionist. I was told that I will hear in the next 2 to 3 days whether I have the job. It's £6 an hour - not much, but better then a poke in the eye!

    I have a couple of items to Ebay and some books to sell. I must do that in the next week.

    Hope you are feeling ok Emily?

    I'm pleased you escaped a stay in hospital, I hope you feel better soon.

    No more money off for me - well there is a bit but I'm waiting to be paid :D

    Hey gang. Nothing to report here really but wanted to say how glad I was Emily that you didn't have to stay in. You are needed here, beating me senseless in this challenge! :D

    Hugs honey.

    Thank you for all of your kind wishes everyone :D I really do appreciate it and I am feeling better than I was so hopefully I will avoid the IVs altogether :)

    I've listed a few more things on Ebay tonight so here's hoping that they go for a nice price. I'm going to find some more stuff tomorrow and list it on Thursday.

    Keep going everyone - we'll all get to the end of this challenge sooner than you think :j :j

  • Hi everyone,

    I should be on track to clear about £150 around Monday from a combination of Amazon, babysitting, £2 coins/20ps, trading in an old mobile and my magazine *boot sale tale* £50.

    I'll keep you updated though! I have another couple of things in the pipeline - local leaflet delivery, more babysitting and about £80 tracking in quidco but I'm going to have to get my thinking cap on!

    I'm so glad everyone is doing so well. The thread is a great motivator - can I suggest that once anyone reaches zero (which will be fantastic!) - they should provide a full breakdown of how they paid it off in one post, i.e.

    Original balance £1,000

    £40 quidco
    £300 eBay
    £...

    etc, etc

    This might help people looking for ideas from the DFW board.

    Does anyone else think that is a good idea?

    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83

    I think that's a great idea. When we each get to zero then we can post a breakdown to mark the end of the challenge. :D

    Great idea Scottish Spendaholic, I'd better start writing it all down coz some of it's being paid with £3 here and £3 there! Saying that, a client has bought £100 of gift vouchers this morning so as i wasn't expecting that i'll put it towards my debt.

    Woo hoo - I got the part-time job! £6 an hour and the hours aren't too bad Sat 9am - 4pm and Sun 12pm - 3pm so I can still go swimming on a sunday night. Yippee! I start the 26th August. So £6 X 9.5 hours = £57 (before tax). I shouldn't get taxed too much as I haven't worked much since the new tax year. Ooops am rambling...

    Just need to get a full-time job now, i.e. Monday thru' Friday! But just keep getting rejected before interview.

    Oh well onwards and upwards...
