  • scaredwitless,
I asked Payplan if I could do this without my wife being tied in also. They said it is possible but creditors prefer joint repayment agreements. It stops the OH continuing to increase debts further
    Good Luck
  • spud30,
Have you had a falling out with your bank or have they decided to reduce OD's with customers generally?
I had to ask my bank if I could increase my OD ( they were reluctant) and have it reviewed on a monthly basis to show them that I would keep within it. I have kept my current level for 3 months and i've not had any feedback from the bank. I don't think my charges are anywhere near 30%

    Hi Frankie,

No, no falling out. I've had an account with them for over 30 years.

I can only assume that it is as a result of them being made aware of our financial situation by CCCS.

Pretty coincidental if not. We've had an overdraft for years. In the past, all they have ever done is increase the limit.

We started a DMP on 1st August, and within 3 weeks or so, they knock £850 off our limit. If we dont reduce our account balance to within the new agreed amount, we will be charged unauthorised overdraft fees of over 29%.

These are the people that care about existing customers, not brand new customers only

    Hi All

Just a little update from me, haven't been on for ages!
Well second payment made to CCCS, no phone calls for at least a couple of weeks now so they seem to have stopped, not that we had many to begin with so I guess we were the lucky ones.
Not sure if everyone has accepted as we have heard nothing but got a statement from my Halifax credit card with no interest added so I guess that means they have! :T
Sorry to hear some people are still having a tough time with it though

Lets hope September is an easier month for most of us!

  • Hi Everyone,
As posted previously about OH beginning his DMP this month, cccs sent letters to all creditors and yesterday we got first response from lloyds tsb regarding OD and CC, they regreat at this time they cannot accept his payment proposel and it will continue through channels to DCA, but one thing we noticed, they have frozen the interest:T ,gee thats a gesture at least I guess. Well now a case of wait and see for the others.

We had another letter from HFC yesterday agreeing to keep our DMP running with CCCS for another 6 months.
Good news is they have finally stopped phoning me at work...
Bad news is..why do they never take notice of anything we say to them?. They know we are with CCCS but have, yet again, sent a Standing Order mandate to pay them direct.
I wrote a grateful;) letter to HFC thanking them profusely for continuing with the DMP and reminding them that CCCS are dealing with all payments.
Also, no payments at all have been credited to my Homebase card according to the Homebase statements, but CCCS are definitely paying them. Spoke to lovely person at CCCS who checked the account details and said he would investigate.

Hi all - ive just paid my second payment to CCCS and havent had too many problems up to now - my biggest creditor is Egg - whom we owe aroung £19500 on an unsecured Loan - ive checked online and theyve frozen the interest but ive had nothing from them in writing.......on a good point got one debt paid off in full - my capital one card was around £319 and due to reclaiming my charges from them this will be wiped on full once they pay up!!

I think my current debt balance is aroung £31,800 ish - but im gonna be claiming charges from about another 4 or 5 of my creditors so hopefully if successful this will bring my debt down considerably......

hope everyone else is doing ok and getting on with their DMP's fine!!

I think your bank has been really shi..y towards you.
Can you possibly open another account with another bank.
I was told to do this by Payplan when I started my DMP with them.
They recommended a number of banks which they have good relations with and do not adversly penalise those who seek help and advice. I have negotiated my overdraft upwards twice in 2 months with Abbey, who I am now with. I have however found to my cost that they use overseas call centres, who seem to speak English as a 4th or 5th language!!! and it is really difficult to converse with them. E-banking is sooooo much easier.
I really wish you all the best

    Hi Frankie,

I was also advised to open a new bank account by CCCS, which I did.

I opened an account with Co-op Bank, call centre somewhere in the North West I think.

Trouble is, I still have a very overdrawn account with my old bank. I just dont know how I am going to ever pay it back, with an unauthorised overdraft rate of almost 30% apr.

Any ideas where I can get £850 in the next 10 days  :rotfl:
