I'm a hummous addict so will try that recipe. I might add in some whizzed up red peppers or chillis to jazz it up a bit. I hadn't thought to add fromage grais.

Well another 3lb off tonight. I only need another 0.5lb to get my stone, so hopefully I will have managed a stone in six weeks! Really thrilled!

Also, which free salad dressing do people use? I've been synning the LF Pizza Express one, but would prefer a free one if anyone can recommend one.

Well done and keep going that's a brilliant loss! :T

Well done to all those out there that were losers this week and well done to all those who are struggling with the Plan for not giving up and for keep trying!:T

I lost 0.5 pound last night. Was very disappointed as I really have tried hard with the Plan this week and eaten lots of speed foods.:( My Consultant said that as I've lost quite a lot of weight; my weight loss may be slowing up now?? I think my portion control may be to blame; but I find it hard to know when I'm full. I did get Slimmer of the Week tho as everyone else gained!:rotfl:

Apparently there is a curry book that is hitting Slimming World classes soon; so I might buy that next week as I love currys.:D

I went to buy the Scwartz Shotz yesterday as I love the cajun one over my Slimming World chips and they have changed the packet and there is no nutritional info on the back.:( I phoned the Slimming World Syn Hotline and the "Schwartz Perfect Shake Cajun" (which has taken over from the Scwartz Shotz) I was advised would probably be syn free as the only ingredient in it which could carry a syn value is the "matodextrin" but as the packet is only 5 g and would be used for two people would end up being syn free.:D

just trying to arm myself with as much knowledge as i can - the meeting i will be going to isnt until next weds evening

what do you guys put on bread or crackers instead of butter ? salad dressings ? i have a slight problem with all the added chemicals and stuff in the fat free ones - is there any alternatives ?

what SW essentials should i buy in all ready ? from reading this frylight and muller lights ? what else please ?

do you get given comprehensive lists of what you can and cant eat and the syn values of foods ?

are there any must have books that help you - either with information or recipes ? WW used to have a restaurant points guide for example

    morning all

Well done on the losses again folks :T

Im another one who finds that bread and bread products make me feel sluggish and bloated:o I haven't had any since I started SW 3 weeks ago and feel much better -not that Im saying I will never have them again, I just need to learn "moderation";)

My EE meals for today are going to be:-
    • 250ml semi skimmed (A)
    • 1 apple
    • bubble n squeak
    • oranges
    • chicken breast
    • Potatoes
    • carrots
    • peas
    • sweetcorn
    • SW Creamy carbonara sauce (1syn)
The carbonara sauce should go over pasta -but I thought it would be nice over the chicken :p
Hubby is golfing again today so tea might be a little later , I need to fit in a healthy (B) somewhere -so I will see how I feel later....

got-it-spend-it -I have the 100 sauces book and I love it -well worth the price:T
Right I had better get off and make another cuppa -hope everyone has a good day:D

I use Laughing Cow Light instead of butter (you are allowed 5 as an "a" choice). I also use a tablespoon of tomato ketchup (1 syn tablespoon), Hellmans Extra Light mayo (0.5 syn tablespoon), Branston pickle (1 syn) depending on what is in my sandwich.

You will get a Slimming World book which gives you a list of what foods are "free food" - you can eat without weighing or measuring as long as they are cooked in the specified way.

Also in the book is how much you are allowed as "a" choices (measured amounts of milk or cheese) and then you get "b" choices (fibre). It probably doesn't make a lot of sense now but your Consultant will explain it to you at your first class.

In the middle of your Slimming World book is a list of some foods with syn values; but if you take down a note of the Slimming World password you can go on-line to the Slimming World website and find out the syn value of any other items not listed in the book.

daisy, theres nothing you "cant eat" on Sw ( I do extra easy) you can have what you want. You just need to manage the amount of syns you can have.

So if you want chinese takeaway, crackers, butter, wine, whatever, you can have it all, but managing the volume of it

yes theres cookery books - to be honest Ive just adapted a few stock-standard recipes to make them slimming world. The food optimising boook and the website will tell you whart syns are in what.

Ive got some books coming Im getitng sauces/ desserts/ foods of the world.

Worth getting hold of the magaizine, its in shops nowquite a few recipes in it and gets you used to seeing what people eat on SW and how balanced it is.

If you want to use your syns for sat-fat items like butter/cream you can!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I'm the same. I've found the original book you get at first meeting has so far been the only one I needed. The Slimming World site is brilliant for the syns in branded stuff and eating out and places like the minimins forum and here are so helful too. Though if there is a curry book coming out I may be tempted by that one - my favourite food that is! Num!

Got-it Spend-it Our consultant just hands out the food trackers when we ask for the, however I am looking for just a freebie 2010 diary as my youngest keeps running off with my tracker or scribbling on it so in the meantime I've started tracking on my blog till I can get a cheap/free diary.
